Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I just replaced my ashtray with a cubby and mine came straight out after removing the 2 screws.
Leading evidence: 'Replace ashtray' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace ashtray' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi, as my wood trim ashtray is falling apart, I bought ashtray delete piece but I can not manage to remove the ashtray frame (the part with the buttons) - I saw a video on YT when someone is doing this exact process but removing the two screws at the bottom did absolutely nothing, it is like completely stuck there - it is not moving a bit when I am pulling and when I start to pull more whol centre console start to do squeaky, cracking noises and I do not want to break anything. Is there something I am missing?
Once the screws are removed it should pull out, although not 'easy'. I think it does click in to place, but even so, shouldn't have to wrestle with it. Try getting some heat around it with a hair dryer and then try pulling.
In that case, there should be nothing holding it in. I would get in there with a trim removal lever and release it that way. It will come out, and if you’re looking to remove the rest of the console, it will have to come out to expose the screw underneath.
If none of the heat, wiggling, pulling etc works then I would consider drilling a 10mm hole to expose the screw underneath, then remove the whole console with the ashtray trim still in place, remembering to remove the connectors from the windows and light.
UPDATE - Solved
there are actually two metal pieces on each of the narrow sides - you need to pry them out with some flat trim removal tool. After that, it pops out, so be careful about this - forcing it out without prying these two clamps is impossible...
