Also, just make sure the steering angle sensor is correct, a quick reset using Durametric or similar.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi everyone, I have a 1999 C4 tip which has an intermittent fault whereby the front right (drivers) wheel will occasionally lock whilst driving and flash the abs light upon the dash and then disappear and go back to normal driving.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi everyone, I have a 1999 C4 tip which has an intermittent fault whereby the front right (drivers) wheel will occasionally lock whilst driving and flash the abs light upon the dash and then disappear and go back to normal driving. I’ve had the reluctor rings replaced as well as the sensors and whilst it is less frequent than it was it is still happening. She has been into an Indy who cannot find any fault codes but did experience the problem on a test drive. They have no clue what it might be. That’s anyone else experienced this problem? Desperate to find a fix. Thanks.

POST 2Original post

It's your left hand side that's faulty. I've had it on the rear. Opposite side is giving an incorrect reading so the ABS puts the brake on at the correct side thinking that side needs correcting. Check reluctor ring and sensor on the passenger side.

POST 3Original post

Also, just make sure the steering angle sensor is correct, a quick reset using Durametric or similar. I have seen reports of people getting this after suspension parts changed and new geo when the steering angle sensor was not reset.
