I’ve seen this very car in the metal, it was the colour that pulled me in to take a closer look.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

First post! A friend said I should post here. Looking for a toy car for 2 adults and 2 small children.
I’ve found the below which looks lovely but I can’t work out if it’s expensive for a 2018 car? Will the colour make resale painful? I do like it!
ETA, I can’t put links in as I’ve just jointed
It’s Porsche finder stock number 0807O4

Doesn't look like a crazy price to me.
Nicely specced, and being a Targa there's some "Targa Tax" to add when comparing to other GTS 4s models.
This one. I've got a thing for orange cars so a big thumbs up from me!

Personally I love the Targa, a good friend has a 992 GTS targa, and I love orange cars (my daily driver is orange!) But I don't think the colour suits the Targa, it will certainly be rare though.
Its all subjective, personally I like the Targa in Gentian, dark metallic grey, or depending on my mood, Riviera
Agree Orange is not for the Targa, this one might look better with Black calipers and black roof over alumimium. Yes Turbo’s going on 991.2 is a thing, do not buy without Porsche Warranty on it, think you can go to 15 years from new date. Plenty of forums here on the Turbo issues.
I think the turbo issue would worry me. My friends 992 targa spends more time in the dealer workshop than my 24 year old Ferrari 360 so reliability would be a worry for me, and Turbo's a big one
I quite like it apart from the red calipers, should have specc'd black and likewise the interior the orange accents just clash with the GTS red accents.
As the owner of a Gulf orange Boxster, I'd say don't let the colour put you off. It will attract a LOT of attention (people photograph my car as if it were a supercar all over the place, especially in London). And you will find lots of other Porsche owners choose bright colours. I've also had a few dealers and private buyers ask me if I'd like to sell it to them, so on that basis I wouldn't worry about difficulty reselling!
Gratuitous photo on the Furka pass during my 10,000km road trip through the alps and down to the south of Italy this summer...
I’ve seen this very car in the metal, it was the colour that pulled me in to take a closer look.
I see it’s listed as PTS: ‘Pastel Orange’, I thought it looked much like the 997.1 RS orange?
Anyway, I thought it looked fantastic and a lovely, vibrant choice for a summer, targa car.

I like the alloy roll hoop and orange elements. I do think the seat belts need changing though.
I’m slightly in love with the colour, it just looks ‘fun’.

Orange is the only colour people should consider buying a car in (Albeit this one is Lava)
No way that is Lava Orange or your camera is up the swanny. That s Guards Red, I had a Lava/Salmon Orange GT3 RS looks nothing like that Red. Sold it because that Lava was awful when the sun was on it. In the showroom and Grey days looked good, forums said Salmon and after being in denial I did see their point of view. There are some nice Oranges but for me Lava is not one of them.

Some cameras are rubbish with orange. In some lights the camera on my iphone makes my orange car look red, in other lights it looks orange.
I remember when the 991 RS was launched and I looked at it while in hospital on my phone - I was convinced it was guards. Only figured it out when I looked at the pic again on a different screen.

It only turns orange when it's parked next to a real Guards Red car!
Lava orange is best seen in person as it actually looks orange!
In photos they're nearly always Guards Red or some kind of pink
Guards Orange is a better description for photos!
Gulf Orange Boxster above was actually advertised as being Lava orange and that's the colour I really liked and I put a deposit on it over the phone. When I actually got to the dealer, I realised that it wasn't Lava orange all. Lava orange is a darker tangerine colour, in metallic and this car was the flat bright orange - Gulf orange is somewhere between Sainsbury's and Dynorod orange. I had to have a long think about it, but the rest of the spec was what I wanted - manual, PSE, PASM, Sport Chrono, PTV. And the PTV was what sealed the deal for me as I hadn't found any other pre-GTS cars that had it.
I was seriously thinking of wrapping the car to make it closer to Lava orange, but I get stopped by so many people (especially old ladies) who love the colour. In the end I decided to leave it as is, but I did get rid of the solid black wheels and went for graphite with aluminium faces.
Here are the colours I was going to go for:
Gloss Fiery orange with charcoal stripes
Matte Metallic Blaze Orange
I think that looks ace! There was an orange 992 GTS available when I bought mine, it looked amazing but I bottled it and went for Shark Blue - and I love bright colours. Point being that it may limit resale opportunities.
One thing, doesn’t the targa have more upright rear seats? I was led to believe they’re different to a standard coupe and might be less comfortable for little ones in the back. (My 9 & 10 year olds find the rear pretty comfortable, if a little noisy at speed.)

Lunarone, so you have a thing for old ladies? That would have definitely got me to change it. Lol

And good luck with the old ladies
Anything that stops old ladies tutting at sporty cars and makes them gush a little can only be a good thing, Shirley!
Gulf Orange on the left...my Lava Orange GT3 on the right. That Gulf 991.2 GT3 was one of only two PTS 991.2 GT3's I think. We were at the PEC on the same day.

Correct the 2nd one was in Maritime Blue, I went to buy it in 2019 from Maxted Page but behind it was shocked to find my old 993 RS, on its way to a Malaysian Collector. I was so taken back sitting in my old RS I realised the size of the 991.2 GT3 bothered me. Didn’t go ahead with the purchase, but it was supplied by OPC Leicester for an Asian Customer who really pushed for a PTS car. Was for sale at Maxted Page for £165k in July 2019. Might have gone to Asia as well.

It sold again subsequently to MP. Can’t remember where/when but wasn’t a ridiculous price.

Interesting, so are these not machined diamond cut but actually a two tone paint?
PS I do love the colour and think it must be very rare, even 1/1 in that colour orange.

I don't know about 1/1 but it is rare. The car was a Porsche GB press car so it's they who specced the PTS colour and black wheels combo. But I hate black wheels and felt I had to do something about it. With such a bright car, the wheel wells just looked like a dark cavern of nothing. I had the wheels diamond cut after repainting in Mclaren Sparkle Grey to get the graphite look I was after. I realise it's a bold look but then the car is bright orange!
