Read evidence and context

Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi everyone new to this site and have just purchased a Carrera 4 s Convertible. She needs new tyres and has 18 inch wheels. I wanted to know what the widest profile tyre is that i can put on her. All replies gratefully accepted to this porsche Virgin. Oh she was born in 2004 if that helps Many thanks

can't help with tyre sizes but once you've found the right size - try www.mytyres.co.uk they are pretty good at beating most other suppliers prices

POST 3Original post

Charles The Approved Tyres TSB on the FAQ page gives you the recommended sizes. Personally, I wouldn't mess about too much with wider tyres, as it might upset the balance of the car. With a C4S you have shedloads of grip anyway. More important would be the selection of tyre make/pattern. As far as I can make out P-Zero Rossos are the grippiest but noisiest, Contis wear well and are quiet but not as sticky, and the Pilot Sports are the best compromise choice. I'm sure you'll get lots of opinions on that though. Also try Event Tyres (see the Supplier's FAQ) as they are very competitively priced, and come to you. edit: And welcome to the forum!!
