Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

LN once sold the IMS Guardian which tested for very early imsb failure.
Leading evidence: 'Test very early imsb failure' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace every 2 seconds' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

I'm not sure what will be changing every 2 seconds that I would want to track other than temp.

Cant beat having real time data and just changing your oil when you know exactly when it needs to be changed.

Suggestion
Many folks ended up just replacing their imsb instead of using the guardian.

Suggestion
I think the Guardian measured conductivity or magnetism of the oil, testing for metal shavings.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

The link to 'Download Technical Specs' didn't work for me.
I cam across this and thought it would be interesting to install in any 996 to monitor the oil quality in real time. Anyone ever use a unit like this?

Sounds like a cool product but not sure a street driven 996 would be the best application for it, especially at that cost. I imagine you need some sort of screen or a pc to be able to display all the data. To me the definition of "real time" means that I have a constant view at all the reading it provides and aside from oil temp it's not something I care to look at while driving. I think this would be awesome to have for a pure track / race car that gets driven hard all the time. It would be useful to see and track the motor health and wear after every weekend of racing. An oil change on a 996 requires about 20 minutes or actual work. Hardly a hassle.
I wish they actually explained what it does. The link to 'Download Technical Specs' didn't work for me. It says it measures oil temperature and "oil condition", but what is that? What metric exactly is "oil condition"? It could be a scatterometer of some kind generally measuring particulate content, or measure water content, or perhaps it measures viscosity as a function of temperature? I'm not sure what will be changing every 2 seconds that I would want to track other than temp.
I suppose if someone pays Dealer prices for oil changes, and this will get them a marginal percentage longer life, then this might somehow pay off over time? I would still be worried though, because no matter what it IS measuring, there is certainly a lot that it ISN'T measuring! Seems cheaper to just change the oil.
Cool idea. But I would rather test my oil for a more comprehensive analysis bevause its so easy to do. LN once sold the IMS Guardian which tested for very early imsb failure. Many folks ended up just replacing their imsb instead of using the guardian.
I have gotten hooked on Lake's speednostics tests over the past couple of years. They tell you quite a bit and are fast for turnaround. I have recently started ordering the 3 packs. Easy after a tra k day or anytime to just suck out some oil and send the test in.
