Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Transaxle question. Can you help identify my transaxle and slave cylinder? I need a new one and can't seem to match the slave cylinder up with the correct one. I own a factory five GTM. I'm running an iron block LSX and a Porsche transaxle. I bought the transaxle from G-Box back in 2012. I was told it was a G96/88 GT2 Porsche 996 rear wheel drive 2002-05. But everytime something breaks I have a hard time finding the correct part when I'm looking for a 2002-05 GT2. Last part was the starter. This time it's the clutch slave cylinder. I don't know one Porsche transaxle from another. But I do have a part number on the trans. G96962004193 see attached pic. Also attached a few pictures of the trans and the car.

POST 2Original post

A quick google search found this. G96.96 - GT3 2004+.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yeah. I seen that too. But I'm not sure that's the part number.

POST 4Original post

Cross check part number for GR3 and GT2 slave cylinder. My guess is they’re the same part Number. Call Pelican as well. They’ll help of you don’t have pn’s.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
