Hey all. Bought a 07 987 and just before I bought it guy reversed the polarity when jumping it. Result is thar blinkers, cruise, horn, and wipers are all not working. Guessed that he blew the control module on the column so found a replacement and put it in. No luck though. Still the same issues and codes are plentiful and can provide them all if necessary. I can use my scan tool to operate brights, and wipers so I don’t think their associated fuses are bad. Either way I went through all the fuses at drivers footwell and none were blown. Does that module need to be programmed to the vehicle? Any other thoughts to try before finding the dealer to look at it?
Hi, welcome to Planet-9,
The Solution-Oriented Porsche Forum for Fixing Darkness!
Yes - I believe that module has to be told what the car has in it and what's attached to the steering column.
That said - there are more fuses, some I've never seen documentation for. There are some in the rear trunk (Boxster) under the fuzzy sidewall stuff somewhere (I recall seeing them..) and then some up front in the Frunk, I believe under the fuzzy frunk liner on the starboard side of the frunk. And there may be some down on the relay control cluster which is up in the footwell somewhere near the pedals (I've actually never seen it..)
You mentioned diagnostic codes and having a tool that is capable of turning the lights and wipers on - is that being done via that module or at the Gateway?
You mentioned codes are plentiful - if you clear them - do they come back - and if so - what are they?
And once you get it sorted out - how about visiting

BTW - I'm moving your thread to a technical section, it will get more eyes there. And I'd suggest reading:
