A few B4 variations exist depending on the vehicle application but these are all intended to replace the standard shocks fitted when the car was new.

mine is decent now I have change the spring on the coilovers but I feel it could be better as my spring rates are outside the valving in the damper really.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi there,
Looking to refresh the nearly quarter century old suspension on my stock Euro 996TT but don't want to spend a fortune on a over-complicated set with numerous settings.
Would just like the car to be a little more "tight" in turns and am after an overall more firm and responsive setup.
That is how I came across this combination:

Not sure if anyone is running this on their 996 Turbo, the B6 seems to be at least a step up from (24 year old) stock, if I am not mistaken.
Anyone with first hand experience on this particular setup?
that's just Bilstein shocks and H&R spring
Bilstein B4
- These are classed as a replacement damper. A few B4 variations exist depending on the vehicle application but these are all intended to replace the standard shocks fitted when the car was new.
Bilstein B6
- A non adjustable sport damper which is painted yellow. The B6 damper is designed for the motorist that wants a sporty ride without lowering the car or changing the original springs.
Bilstein B8
- just like the B6 shock absorber but shorter. These are only for use with lowering springs or where listed for vehicles with factory sports suspension. The are shorter to ensure the all important coil spring pre load as lowering springs are shorter than OE springs.
There is a trick, especially with our UK roads
Opt for the Bilstein B4 shocks, you can run lowered spring, Eibach or H&R but you
must
upgrade the Anti-Roll bars / Sway bars for the handling benefits where running the softer springs for comfort
Give Center Gravity a call. Great bunch of guys and girls and can help talk you through some options. Its probably not just the shocks/springs you need, if its not had some money spent on it recently you'll probably need some other components replacing and then a proper geo set up by someone who really understands these cars.
centre gravity have design there own product called CGGT for those that want a more road grand touring friendly setup. I need to give them a call myself.
