Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi folks, I am looking at getting back into a 911. I've had 3 but all air cooled. I've just got out of a Z4M that I only bought as I couldn't afford a 911 after a divorce. The car is just a weekend car and for doing some road trips and after having to pay over £700 a year for driving a thousand miles I would rather keep to pre 2006.
I have been thinking of a 996 or 997 and have not driven either. Marshall have the 996 Hartech development 3.9 car and a 997 with a Hartech rebuild and Pccm and so I may pop up and look at both.
Has anyone driven the development car?
I'm looking forward to getting something to sit in my currently empty newly built heated garage. Simon.
this one ?
I hear it's a peach

Hi Simon,
Looks like a good car with tons of servicing at Reading and then a full Hartech rebuilt.
Worth seeing it and trying it out.
checking the warranty they offer is inportant and also with Hartech as they will k ow the car well.
All the best
I’m sure if you bought wisely In either the 996/997 then you’d love experience. And if they had the Hartech conversion then that would be even better. For me they are both great models and are at that perfect point of almost giving you that old Porsche feeling compared to the newer cars available today
Same as you, I had an ‘86 for over 20 years. I’ve now got a 2004 C4S tip cab, and love it.
I think that Hartech car will be a cracker, and it’s not bad money.
GLWTS.
I think the 996 is a better drivers car, I have both and my 997 feels more refined and you could spend all day in it, but the 996 feels more nimble and visceral, so I suppose it depends what you want.
Individual set-up obviously plays a massive part, but all things being equal I think the 996 is more fun.
The 997 feels more grown up and refined, but it's still 'chuckable' and not dull like a base 991 is.
