Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

It’s a really high quality part and it fitted perfectly out of the box.

Suggestion
as to the fit, unlikely to be a direct fit, so expect you might need to do a lot of adjusting, blending, filling, etc

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Doing my homework on fitting an aero kit to my 3.4 996
Although probably not the done thing I marginally prefer the dot 2 look but I’d have to swap headlights maybe other parts ? And it takes away from what the car originally was ..
I’m not a purist, it’s not show standard, I want to use and enjoy the car, it doesn’t have to be oem, I’m happy with reproduction / fibreglass bumpers spoilers etc if they’re decent quality.
Be interested in anyones experience who’s done it.
Has anyone used this company, club autosport ?
Many thanks

I have a similar car (3.4 C2) and I’m also interested in doing some of the aero kit (front bumper and skirts). I saw this company, but really don’t have any experience of working with CF or Fiberglass. I’d prefer OEM parts but the skirts seem to be impossible to find, unless you count 2k a go items from Germany.
I’ll be keeping a keen eye on this thread!
Looks great Steve, those are my favourite wheels too.
Interesting to see mixing dot 1 kit with dot 2 wheels
Did you buy new parts? Or source used stuff? Did you fit it all yourself ?
I recently fitted a new OEM polyurethane front Aerokit bumper to my 3.4. It’s a really high quality part and it fitted perfectly out of the box. My concern with a composite alternative would probably be thickness around the mounting points behind the side repeaters, as you need some adjustment here to get it flush with the wings. It also needs to be quite flexible just so that it can be installed and removed easily without damage.
Be aware that if you do go down the OEM route, it can be difficult to find the bumper with the central radiator hole blanked off. Take a look at my thread here:
https://911uk.com/threads/help-identifying-aerokit-part-radiator-blank.127713/
As for sill covers, OEM were about £700 each a year ago. I can dig out the price I paid for my bumper if that would help you. There are many different bumper part numbers and many different prices.
I bought an 996.1 C2 first gen (from 1998) and put a complete Aerokit on it, but i dont like the Taco Wing, so i do a 996.2 GT3RS Wing with a Carbon Deck on it.
I love my modded 996.2 with taco wing, turbo bumper and can’t remember which side skirts I fitted. Also fitted gt3 Pccb which was great fun
All original parts so it cost a few £££ tho. Ived changed it up so much over the last 5 years it’s been a crazy ride.
This was a good look
This was my fav look.

Just been through your thread, what a rabbit hole!
If you have the part number for the sills that would be really useful, as I can’t find them. Do they need additional brackets to go on or are they bonded to the body?
As for the bumper, I think design911 has it covered:
https://www.design911.co.uk/p/front-bumper-gt3-mk1-porsche-boxster-986-996-08-2001-98650598001g2x-98650598003g2x/
Part numbers can be found on the official PDFs, for
Carrera
and for
GT3
. Generally speaking, the Aerokit is just the GT3 parts, so the PDF gives you a good start. You can then go and sit with the parts man at your local OPC, trawl through other diagrams (particularly for option parts, like the Aerokit), and cross reference the numbers against your chassis number. Some numbers in the PDF will have been superseded.
You’ll find the sill covers on illustration 801-80 of the GT3 PDF. They aren’t stuck on, instead they hang on a long bracket which is screwed to the sill and affix to clamps on the seam at the bottom. I have attached the best pictures I can find of my car for reference. There is a tool you can use to align the bracket, it was discussed on a recent thread here.
Be aware that Design 911 source their Porsche parts from Porsche, and charge a markup. In my experience, the OPC is cheaper even before any discount you might be able to persuade them to give.
That is really helpful, thank you
I think I’ll contact both OPC (likely to be Swindon as they are closest classic partner) and also my local Indy, Northway. I’ll feedback what they both say (current costs!)
