Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I'm using the standard nut (purchased some new ones) with the collar, the nut is quite deep and with the standard top mounts the thread was flush with the nut.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'm just fitting a set of mono ball top mounts purchased from design 911. Has anyone else fitted some with Ohlins r&t and noticed there is not much/none thread above the top nut when everything is tight? I'm using the standard nut (purchased some new ones) with the collar, the nut is quite deep and with the standard top mounts the thread was flush with the nut. With the mono ball mounts the thread is about 1mm short of the top of the nut. I hope this rather inarticulate explanation makes some sense to someone lol. Anyway, just thought I'd put it out there. Cheers.

POST 2Original post

wonder if Ohlins do that so that you end up with their mono[ ball set up top of the nut, is there a cap ?

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 2729026

Hmm probably mate. No no cap on it. I could just use a shallow nut or machine a thou off the spacers/collars in the top mount. It's not really a drama and I mark everything up anyway with tippex so I can see if anything has come loose/moved. I was just wondering if anyone else has come across it

POST 4Original post

it's probably one of the washers, but if it all fits, safe and you're happy then that is key

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

No washers and slightly different layout. I've got spring, gold anodised top spring platform (not sure exactly name) monoball top mount then nut. Nothing else. There is literally nothing else. If I put 1 washer anywhere the nut would hardly go on? All a bit " just fits" lol
