Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

23 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The exhaust of my 00' C2 is rusty, what kind of paint do you guys suggest? or is there some better way to make this look good without changing the whole exhaust system.

POST 2Original post

Remove exhaust, polish, then paint with this: http://www.vhtpaint.com/flameproof.html I'm about to do this in the next few days.

POST 3Original post

A great deal of effort to paint the exhaust. As long as the tips look good I wouldn't waste my time on a part that is not visible and undergoes a great deal of use.

POST 4Original post

They look that way pretty much to begin with. I really wouldn't worry about it. In the rare event that you spring an exhaust leak just get a polished stainless system.

POST 5Original post

I personally think it looks great: Plus SUPPOSEDLY it improves performance. The ceramic coating keeps the outside cool, & makes the hot fuels inside draw out quicker. Don't know if that's true or not, but like I said, it looks great anyway. It also improves sound, & this I do know because I've heard the same exhaust on a 997S with & without ceramic coating. Either way, for a little DIY & like $10 on paint, go for it. I'm definetely doing it.

I think it looks great too, but tell me that the car isn't being jacked up by the oil pan!?! If that's the case, a rusty exhaust system will be the least of his worries!

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 7190224

Looks like that is a jack on the oil pan!

POST 10Original post

The apparent fact that it did not immediately cave in is an amazing witness to ruggedness!

POST 11 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have heard that painting the cats might foul up the O2 sensor. Has anyone here tried painting with high temp paint and not get problems?

POST 13Original post

Quotes source post: 7193310

Lol, that's only if you paint the INSIDE. You shouldn't be painting the inside of your exhaust anyway, for many other reasons aside from the O2 sensor. Painting the outside causes no problems at all, unless you consider no rust, clean/sporty look, better exhaust flow, sound, & cooling a bad thing.

I think its part of the Mayan calendar prophecies. Proof the world just might be approaching an end. But, the Porsches will survive.

I think Al Gore said the same thing(it keeps the outside cooler).
