Hi All,
Does anyone have any experience with and aftermarket warranty for repairs? any suggestions?
Thanks in advance
All depends on what we’re talking about for mods… depends on dealership as well.
Porsche
as a whole is a little more forgiving on mods IF they install items… VAG (vw-audi) is not forgiving for example
I'm just looking for a reputable company to use for my 13 991 cab.
So another company besides the dealer to do warranty…?
Correct, I purchased from a private party.
Fidelity Platinum warranty seems to be a popular choice, as there are multiple long discussion threads on both P car forums about them. You buy from dedicated dealer reps, that may or may not be
Porsche
dealers, but that doesnt matter, and it seems the price can vary greatly from one rep to the other for the same plan. The P car discussions that will come up in a Google search have the best price reps listed in them based on others experiences with them.
Here is one big one to get you started:

If you ask private shops - Zurich is generally the preferred vendor, they pay claims and don't **** around.
Any extended warranty is a bet - you're betting your car is a POS and going to cost more than the extended warranty buy-in price (including deductibles for repairs) over the term of the policy. The insurance company is betting they can charge you more for the policy than they'll pay out over the term of the warranty. They base their bet on the numbers they have for cars similar to yours. They can also tilt the bet in their favor by making it difficult to impossible to collect on the warranty by using unreasonable terms (I've seen ones requiring 5k mile oil changes..) or simply refusing to pay claims and daring you to do something about it.
You will eventually lose this bet. I've made the bet a number of times, and on one car I won big. Another car I broke even. The other instances I lost big time - the cars were reliable.
Your bet, your choice. Do shop around. The typical sales markup on extended warranties is 100% - it costs the person selling it half of what they sell it to you for. There is a LOT of room for dickering.
Personally - I've pretty much given up on them.
