Hi - i am considering buying a post 2003 996 with a higher than average mileage (to save money!).. Can someone please tell me at what mileage/age a cambelt change is normally due on a 996? And how much would this cost at an OPC or independant? Thanks in advance..

[ ] oh right... so am i right in thinking the only servicing required is a minor/major service at 12k/24k respectively - or minor once a year if less than 12k AND spark plugs every 24k (- purely mileage dependant)? is the only difference between a minor and major service the spark plugs? thanks again.. as you can see i am a little naive & confused!!

Theres a poly rib belt that needs changing every 48K in the major service. I picked mine up today after 96K service from an indy and coughed just under the £1K mark albeit included a few other parts so probably about £900 ish.

No they are independent of each other. I dont need brake fluid change until next year. The 48K service did include g'box (tip) oil change.
