But with the World money crisis , the new GTR and the new V10 R8, I guess Porsche has no choice but to put company survival ahead of maintaining the resale values for used Porsches.

Now if they will only tell us if it uses the new DFI block for certain, if so, let's order up some 4.0L engines and drop them in our Caymans!

Last I heard, these were still going to use the split-case 3.6L, but it would be a nice surprise if they used the new motors.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 2Original post

Interesting look with the blacked out front pieces...

POST 3Original post

No PCCB's - aren't they standard on the RS? hmmmmm...

POST 4Original post

Well spotted Fort. Last time they released the RS after the "standard" GT3. I'm voting for this one to be standard.

POST 5Original post

Didn't story say ceramics were going to be "optional". I'll have go back and read.

POST 6Original post

Center hub attachment for the rims? Interesting. And a pretty serious look.

POST 7Original post

I like the look.... Look at the size of those back tires in the first shot coming head on at you. They look HUGE! You guys think those are 13's?

POST 8Original post

Interesting exhaust arrangement hmmm? That is one BAMF right there!

POST 9Original post

about 80 percent of the GT3 RS ordered in the USA (2007s and 2008s) were ordered with the ceramic brakes, an $8,840 option.

POST 10Original post

The spoiler sure looks like the RS spoiler! Anyone notice that -again- the left rear brake light is not lit??

POST 11Original post

It says in the article that it will carry over the same engine as the previous one, so what are the main differences between the old one and the new one?

POST 12Original post

2010 Porsche 911 GT3 RS spy photos is it really a mid Engine 911 Road & Track feb the more you look at the pictures the more it looks like a mid-engine car! it is sprung like a cayman, it has vents like a cayman, it's rear is so covered up ...is it..yes it could be... porsche has finally after all these years decided to fulfill Dr. Porsche's orginial plans for PORSCHE #1 .. make his product leader a mid-engined car..... now that would step past the Cayman S as the ultimate Sports Car.

POST 13Original post

Re: 2010 Porsche 911 GT3 RS spy photos is it really a mid Engine 911 Road & Track feb Nope - the motor is plainly in the rear, and it even says in the article - "Those Turbo-look side vents are also fake." So, dream on... brad

Re: 2010 Porsche 911 GT3 RS spy photos is it really a mid Engine 911 Road & Track feb I think this IS a TT, the side bulging fog lights are those of the TT!

2010 Porsche 911 GT3: 435 HP, Priced From $112,200 2010 Porsche 911 GT3: 435 HP, Priced From $112,200!! Obviously because of the the economic crisis, and real competition from the Nissan GTR, and the Audi R8,.. Porsche is finally waking up! It's now priced right between the Audi R8 and the Nissan GTR.

POST 23Original post

Re: 2010 Porsche 911 GT3: 435 HP, Priced From $112,200 Plus $20-30K dealer mark-up!!!

POST 24Original post

Re: 2010 Porsche 911 GT3: 435 HP, Priced From $112,200 This price will cut off the legs of almost all of their old Porsche 911 customers who felt their 2 to 4 year old GT3's were still worth more than $100K. Ouch! ... Talk about deflation for the whole Porsche line! But with the World money crisis , the new GTR and the new V10 R8, I guess Porsche has no choice but to put company survival ahead of maintaining the resale values for used Porsches.

POST 25Original post

Re: 2010 Porsche 911 GT3: 435 HP, Priced From $112,200 What was the list price in the US for the previous version? Looks like Porsche is caring a little less about that market and overall sales if the bump is as big as I think (I thought list was less than $100K before?)

POST 26Original post

Re: 2010 Porsche 911 GT3: 435 HP, Priced From $112,200 MSRP was $107,500 for the base GT3

POST 27Original post

Re: Looks like the 997.2 GT3 is about to be unwrapped... Awesome engine, but it's in the wrong place. Imagine all of that technology in an upgraded Cayman platform. This is so familiar from my Corvette days. GM stuck with those weird leaf springs and a pushrod V8 out of tradition, and Porsche still insists on hanging the engine behind the rear axle on its flagship platform. And just as with the Corvette, Porsche throws a lot of money at refinement and development and somehow the result is unexpectedly good, but not what it could be.

POST 30Original post

Re: Looks like the 997.2 GT3 is about to be unwrapped... Just viewed the web special. Were those little cut scenes of Walter racing that red GT3 cool or what?!?! Porsche has done it once again! Things I like: 1. Center lock wheel design 2. New rear spoiler 3. The Carrera GT like vents on the rear bumper to allow the hot exhaust bay to vent 4. Being able to raise and lower the front lip (Finally!) 5. Exterior design is awesome, love the body colored center grill, reminiscent of the 993 GT2

POST 33Original post

Re: Looks like the 997.2 GT3 is about to be unwrapped... Completely agree on your points! It's an awesome new version of a fantastic car. And to have Walter Röhrl himself assisting in the launch is a nice marketing gimmick! I must say I'm quite envious of that Martini Racing suit...
