Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi all I have a 1999 996 and while removing the tires, I broke the tool for the locking lug bolt. I looked through eBay and the Pelican listings, but cannot find a matching lug nut tool. As shown in the pics, my tool has six inner teeth that are spaced equally around the circumference. The two 'recommended' ones that I have found are either multi splines or have six inner teeth that are not equally spaced. Any thoughts, outside of the dealer, as to where I could go to find a replacement tool? Only other option is to swap out locking bolts for non-locking. Thanks in Advance d

A Porsche Dealership should have a way to remove it

Get a set of these or pound a torx socket over them to remove. https://www.eastwood.com/eastwood-damaged-lug-nut-removal.html?SRCCODE=PLA00020&gclid=CjwKCAiA25v_BRBNEiwAZb4-ZQoJKVR-QaBxh3s0EfKms7IMJ8mXe8ZEaoNOx0wqqzICIlhicQrdUBoCcE gQAvD_BwE Then hit eBay For these https://www.ebay.com/itm/Genuine-OEM-PORSCHE-Anti-theft-Lugs-Key-Wheel-Lock-Set-Bolt/224290612050?hash=item3438c32352:g:96oAAOSw4Dxf41o N

WOW That is a nice tool from Eastwood - wished I had seen it sooner. Altho I did save $20 by spending 3 or 4 hours with a set of metal drill bits. Eventually weakened it enough to be able to get an odd sized socket on it. WOuld love the locking lug bolts, but the pattern is different than mine. Thanks for the reply jb
