I bought a 2008 Cayman S in July and just think it is incredible. So I went to test drive the new 2009 911 C4S with PDK and completely loaded! Well, I couldn't give up my Cayman for a variety of reasons so I decided to add the new Meteor Grey 911 C4S to keep it company! Just brought it home tonight and it is incredible. I was hesitant to look at the PDK because I wanted the pure manual but once you drive the PDK it is some amazing drive. They both look tremendous side by side in my garage. Without a doubt Posche makes fabulous cars. C4S is expensive yes, but dealers are willing to make great deals right now. I'm sure they will with the 2009 Cayman too. Porsche sales are down so you can do quite well. I will take some photos and post side by side. I won't be getting rid of my Cayman S that's for sure.
Congratulations! I look forward to hearing about the different driving experiences. I find the imbalance in the C4S gets very exciting at the limits.
Wow! That certainly is a dream garage. I assume the Meteor Gray C4s is the launch car that all the dealers received with the sport bucket seats?
It was very well optioned and the dealers are making crazy deals on them due to the seats. Not everyone can fit in them.
Congrats again and enjoy BOTH in the best of health!
Thank you! It's pouring rain here in San Diego area but I still plan on taking it out at some point today. It's all wheel drive so I'm not sure how that much the imbalance they are known for will play out. I will keep you posted
Yes, that is indeed the car. Very well optioned. I'm not tall so I can fit in them well. It seems like dealers received 3 or more each so they are able to negotiate since car sales are down. The Cayman and the C4S do look good together!
I'll keep you posted on comparisons to my Cayman S.
Do you drive both too? Would be interested to hear your feedback on the different handling.
Good for you, It's great to have both 911 and a 987 platforms, two great cars for two different reasons.
Thanks! Yes, you are absolutely correct... Two great cars that are incredible to drive. Doesn't mean one or the other is better. However I drove my 911
C4S from Palm Desert in Southern California today to Temecula on an amazing mountain twisty road. I had driven this road in my Cayman S but I was truly able to push the 911 C4S with PDK slightly more than I could in the Cayman because of the all wheel drive. Just a different thrill level I suppose you could say.
