Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Greetings 996 Friends,
Unfortunately, I have to report some sad news - we've lost a member,
@El Roso
.
Iain and I connected through Rennlist and ended up living only a few blocks away from each other, and I had seen his 996.2 C2 parked on the street outside his house for some time. Little did I know, it was him!
We went on several drives together in and around Victoria, BC during the pandemic in my 996 Turbo, his Carrera, and my Elise. He managed to see the end of my "GT3-ish" project, but never got a chance to drive it. We ran into each other many times on walks around the neighbourhood with our wives, and I ran into him at the grocery store. He recently bought a house where he was able to park his late father's TR6. He traded in his 996 for a 997 in the summer of 2022, and also got married.
I moved away from Victoria in August 2022, and we kept in sporadic Porsche contact by text.
Unfortunately, it seems that after a dizzy spell at work in January of this year, he was taken to the hospital and it was found that he had brain cancer, glioblastoma. He fought a hard fight and tried different surgeries and treatments. Unfortunately, on his birthday on April 30th, he went back in the hospital and unfortunately, he succumbed to his illness.
Iain was a great guy and we always talked a lot of shop, and gave each other advice. He was a nice dude and always had a funny story to tell. He will be missed by many.
I just wanted to let people know, in case.
Sorry for the bad news.
-Matt
Thank you for Matt. That is truly heartbreaking news. We're definitely not guaranteed tomorrow. We should spend more time with people we know and love because life is too short.
God speed Iain on heaven's "narrow and winding" roads.
I agree - makes me remember that you really aren't guaranteed to do anything years from now.
I drove my Turbo to work today as a reminder to enjoy life everyday and not just live for the weekend.
Thanks for posting the picture of Iain's car,
@ZuffenZeus

**** Cancer!
I recently lost my friend to same brain cancer and a couple months later my Beautiful wife to Duodenal Cancer.
All we can do is move forward not past these times. Enjoy your memories and life. I/we can look forward to when well be with them again!
Sorry for you loss.
Peace.😎
Sorry for your loss Matt, but sure glad to hear of the good times you 2 had. I lost my wife during the pandemic and quickly came to the realization that life moves forward and for me to cherish the time I was given with her. Those will be fabulous memories. I'm sure he's enjoying some twisty roads on us!
