Hey Guys,
We've finally came on board with Planet-9! So this is going to be one of many new product intro's we'll be communicating directly w/ the Porsche community. As a specialty retailer/fabrication shop, we enjoy coming up with great product solutions to serve the Porsche community...we not only develop but sometimes take existing factory parts and enhance them because we can
. For the most part, our ideas come from listening to what you share with us, so hopefully this
next
idea is something that is within the ball park and hopefully will meet your needs.
One of the common issues we come across quite a bit is how to keep the door entry area from getting scuffed and scratched up. Obviously you can replace these parts as they begin to show wear, but how about products that just simply work, holds up and are highly durable to normal everyday abuse? Well we are introducing a new product update that addresses this issue, and thought we would share it here first. Our newest sills now come available powder coated in Black Satin. It's not as flashy as the stainless version most of us are accustomed to but it is more so understated, subtle yet classic in many ways.
We have them available as a direct replacement for the original sills on the 987, 997 vehicles. They are also available for the
986
and 996 vehicles as well. Or we also have the cover version for the 996, 987 and 997 vehicles, which is applied over your original sills and an opening allows for the factory logo to show through.
They are applied same as factory sills, there is a 2" wide, .031" thin strip of double sided adhesive on the underside of the sills to mount them into position.
If you are going with the covers:
1. Standard $90 (Original sills w/ factory emblems required)
We have 3 options if you are going with the direct replacement version:
1. Standard (No emblem or decals applied) $95
2. Automotive Grade Decals Applied $110 (We have been able to find a few different ones thus far that are an excellent application for the sills, "
Boxster
(S),
Cayman
(S), Carrera (S, & 4S)" See example below.
3. With Porsche Genuine Emblems...$165. We can apply them to the sills as well. Just let us know which ones you want applied and we can usually get it done. See example below.
If you have questions, please feel free to PM us or email

.
Best regards,
Loi

A few more pics
Here are two more pics of the factory "PORSCHE" emblem applied to the sills. These emblems are from the Panamera part no. 970.559.235.01. I believe we can also get the new Cayenne version of "PORSCHE" which if memory serves me right are smaller as well.
Re: A few more pics
They look great! I like how your product is an improvement over the OEM ones which easily scratch & scuff.
Re: A few more pics
Those look really nice.
Do you have any installed pictures of any of the versions?
Thanks
Ben
Hi Ben,
We don't currently have the black version shown installed yet. But here are some pics of the stainless sills prior to being powder coated. I will try to get some pics over the week and post them up.
Cheers,
Loi
Test fit pics
Here are the cover version that goes over the factory sills w/ logo.
Here are a few w/ the Raised Porsche emblem...btw the "PORSCHE" word comes in chrome and brush finish.
Here are the few remaining pics w/ the raised emblems and also a shot with the plain version.
Those look great. I'm in for a set!
I love them! Do you have pics of the brushed aluminum PORSCHE ones?
My only concern is the height of the covers and how it might look too raised compared to stock.
How durable are the automotive grade decals?
I think a special for early adopters (or Group buy) might be a good idea to promote them and this way others sitting on the sidelines will get unbiased customer feedback on them.
We haven't stocked any of the brushed "PORSCHE" logos as of yet, as we just started introducing the black sills. I had 2 sets available but down to 1 since bsnively has just purchased one.
The covers are great, especially if you compare them to what it looks like without after a couple years of abuse. See the attached pic, this is from a car that has mainly been in the showroom...pretty much everything is new but the entry way. (Apart from that, we have a 30 day return policy for unused items...so if your not happy with the sills return it for a refund less shipping cost). Test fit them, see if they'll work for you. If not, put them back in the box and return it to us, we're pretty easy going.
The automotive decals are great...but you'll have to see for yourself. Once applied, we treat them w/ a heated blower to increase the bonding and to secure the edges.
As for sills, I can offer $10 off the cover version or the replacement version in plain or automotive decal (first 20 customers, available to US buyers only). If interested, just send a PayPal payment to

, and include description of your sill preference.
Mine came pretty quick and look fantastic. I attached some pictures of the install process/etc here:

Thx,

Do you have any pics of the black satin powder coated stainless door sills with the oem stickers under the clearcoat ($165.00) for
Cayman
not
Cayman S
. I am very interested in this product. How much is total price shipped to Arlington, Virginia.
Thanks,
dave-t
Hi Dave,
Sorry for the delay in responding, I assumed new postings would be notified to my email.
If you go with the Genuine emblem, it is the raised lettering you have on the rear trunk, not a vinyl decal. This option is $165 shipped.
You may be interested in the other option which has the vinyl decal. Please note it does not have clear coat applied on top of it, but it is an automotive grade vinyl that should hold up very well, it is $110 shipped. It will look like the Carrera 4S picture in the very first post.
If you have questions, feel free to PM us.
Cheers,
Loi
