And for the record, I’ve no knowledge of or affiliation to any of the companies using the rolling road facilities in any of the videos featured in this thread, nor am I suggesting they’ve manipulated the figures the exhaust modifications fitted have produced.

My OPC refused to change the non-broken side (even though they said they would!), when they replaced the first under warranty, so I'm super-conscious I have an original mount there that could go at any minute.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
27 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

They remap it?
I’ve tested link pipes in their own and no real power difference..
Yes, remap as well. For an NA car, the gains seem impressive.

Phil, what I can't quite work out (and I can't get them to answer the phone to clarify!) is if the remap is to purely code out the errors from the removed OPF's, or if it's also a remap of the power tune/bands, do you know?

Hey Kev. Not sure. I would assume both but presume most of the gain is down to OPF removal. You tempted?

Initially I was, but after doing some research it seems RPM are evading the reality of what makes up the power gains. From what I have found on Youtube and various forums, the vast majority of people who've installed the link pipes have not seen power gains, so any power gains are made through a full ECU power map. Although my car is 3yrs old this summer, a full ECU remap is not something I want to do.
So in essence, if I go link-pipes only, then it's £2k + fitting, to save some KG and have a raspier sound. I'd ideally want to also see some un-mapped power gains if I was freeing up the restrictions.
Having said that, the sound is indeed much better than stock...

Thanks Phil. I'm more than convinced, those overlay graphs at the end are mega! But it'll come down to whether I want to keep my car inside Porsche warranty or not.
I spoke to both my local OPC's and they said they would cover any Porsche extended warranty claims with just the over axle pipes fitted (providing my car was serviced there), but both said no if the car had a remap.
So for me it depends what I'll want to do in July when the car turns 3, and if I want to exit it from the network.
Given, from my memory, you're in the same position in a month or so time, what are you thinking?
Hi Kev. I’m tempted! Will be interesting to see Suspension Secrets progress with theirs.
Mines 3 years old next month but think I’m going to extend the warranty and keep things standard for now.
Need to find an indie that has a proper fix for the adaptive engine mount issue and I think I’d be more relaxed about letting the warranty lapse.

The exact same reasons as me. My OPC refused to change the non-broken side (even though they said they would!), when they replaced the first under warranty, so I'm super-conscious I have an original mount there that could go at any minute.
My car just over 3 years old 4000 miles, one engine mount failed, OPC said would ask Porsche to see if both could be done at the same time.
Answer came back as No!
So one replaced, pleased I extended the warranty for two years.

Have you stripped out your GT4 ? My 981 fully fuelled weighed 1430 Kg's ?
As for GT3 numbers ... it would appear that with the GT4's throttles and exhaust opened up the GT3 needs to be kept above 5250rpm to keep ahead ... ??
But a great result from Genome design ... I wonder what the 991.2 GT3RS without the GPF's would yield ???

An MOT failure and a voided warranty ?

The early 991.2 GT3RS did not have GPF's ... later cars had ITB's and GPF's ... so yes removing the GPF on those would be a problem ...

Hi Chris. No, my car is standard and I don’t want to lose too much creature comfort.

Ok, so you have no factual proof then, just internet speculation.
I’ve no skin in the game, and no axe to grind.
The gains (if accurate) are “impressive”, and would tend to indicate the cat/PPF combination is proving to be somewhat restrictive.
Furthermore, on the basis of the minimal horsepower gains (and let us not forget the reduction in torque) Porsche has to settle for on the 992.2 GT3/RS engines, despite implementing several mechanical improvements to them, it would be fair to assume that the combination of cats and PPF’s are restricting horsepower and torque.
Thus their removal, along with a remap to optimise fuelling, should liberate decent horsepower increases.
Manthey’s modifications to create the K400 upgrade for 996.1 GT3, consisted of better manifolds, 200 cell cats, better flowing exhaust silencers, a Cup airfilter and some cold air ducting along with a supporting remap. Those mods liberated between 45-50hp on what was then the equivalent of the 992.2 GT3/RS, albeit without the increasingly draconian emissions regulations modern petrol engines are subject to.
Increasingly good though rolling road dynos are, the figures they produce can be fudged, so there is no substitute for using an engine dyno.
Unfortunately most companies manufacturing aftermarket exhausts won’t invest the time and money to remove the engine from a car, set it up on an engine dyno and then pay for the time necessary to test and optimise their products on it. So we’re all too often forced to settle for the figures produced on a rolling road.
Those who believe the figures will of course say the headline figure means nothing, it’s the delta before and after the components have been fitted that’s important. Which is all well and good if the figures haven’t been manipulated in both instances…
And for the record, I’ve no knowledge of or affiliation to any of the companies using the rolling road facilities in any of the videos featured in this thread, nor am I suggesting they’ve manipulated the figures the exhaust modifications fitted have produced.
As you were.
Is the plan after all these mods to do something competitive i.e. hill climbs, sprints maybe racing? Seems like a lot of money and time to go round in circles slightly quicker but maybe that just me

Don’t be silly. I’ve tested and video recorded a few exhaust configurations..
Interesting topic. Whilst not wishing to hijack the Akrapovich element, Ninemeister also market OPF delete pipes, plus a remap. I’m not sure if they have published the gains that are claimed, but coupled with the lightened flywheel and air filters, it not only sounds much better, but is very much more rapid then stock.
For me the torque gains are a game changer. It’s now a seriously rapid machine
