Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Don't expect a pretty receptionist or courtesy car. Just the job done right.

Oh, and don't be in a hurry.
1999 996 Carrera 2 S.
Discs (as warped), and possibly 2 rear shocks. Fitting pushes it over £1k.
But discs are ok it tootling around and so are shocks as not picked up on MOT however Porsche picked up on 'misting'.
Your memory does, Peter.
Chris Sargent of GCR Porsche, Wigston, Leicester, is very good.
His workshop's easy to reach from the M!/M69 and he has secure parking
His prices are good - talk to him about exactly which parts he's going to use - and he's quite good on time, too.
Chris is also very good on advice and small jobs. The first time I met him was when I pushed the bonnet release on the sill, instead of pulling it. It disappeared. Chris retrieved it. Then one headlight just wouldn't come out. Chris got it out. And he re-sealed the windscreen when the external rubber came off. And so on. All for no charge.
He's not a charity, though, and you need to be clear about how much work will cost before he does it.
Bit of a holy thread resurection.
GCR now supply and fit tyres - just had a set of PS2s fitted on my 996. Car went on the 2 post lift to have the wheels removed and great care taken.
They are still really busy so Chris probably wont thank me for posting this
. As always lots of stunning cars in the workshop.
