Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

10 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I need to replace my fronts. Have seen various sets & prices. Looking on ebay I say these Mayle supposed to be made in Germany with Mintex pads. Also MTEC discs with Mintex pads made in the UK. Anybody tried either of these? Mike.

POST 2Original post

stick with Textar pads who OEM Manufacturer for Porsche, along with Sebro discs, this is the best combo best value https://www.design911.co.uk/porsche/996-c2-3-4l-1997-08-01/brake-pads---disc-package/?source=911uk

POST 3Original post

Mintex pads are garbage, no offence. Cheap, but they gather dust like crazy and are just too easy to fade! I went with Brembo discs and Textar pads from Autodoc. One of the reasons for going Brembo was to get directional drilling like the originals. Many aftermarket discs are symmetrical and non-OCD compliant.

POST 4Original post

Agree Textar and Sebro I bought Brembo discs and they warped even after very careful break in.

Brembos are all PVT now so symmetric and not handed

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi,thanks for the replies, kind of thought going the Texlar route.I think thats what I did last time. Mike.

POST 7Original post

Same advice for rear discs I presume? Textar / Sebro?

I did mine ~3 years ago, so perhaps they changed, but back then when you searched with the Porsche part number, they would give you different discs for either side in the front. The rears are not directional even from Porsche.

POST 9Original post

I’m going to go sebro slotted discs next time as i hate the way drilled holes seem to always score the surface and look like vinyl records after a while.

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Got the Sebro discs & Textar pads from Design 911 for a good price.next day delivery. Fitted & bedded in. Mike.
