Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion

In the past, I had used a long leg adjustable pliers to squeeze the sides with using the other hand to pry out the hose, but you have to be careful as they are plastic, and since you are talking 987 chassis, 'if original' those hoses are almost 20 years old, therefore they will become brittle :-(

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

10 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

What's the secret to getting these things to seperate? Ive squeezed hard and tried to work them free but its not budging.

POST 3Original post

Three steps. Push the fittings together hard. (This is the magic) Then squeeze the tabs. Then separate pull the fittings apart.

POST 5Original post

The fitting has a circular ring on the female part. The ring is supported but has two rough areas that I’m referring to as tabs but maybe should call pads. Squeeze these pads after you have compressed the two fittings firmly into each other. The pads are the locking mechanism.

POST 6Original post

Not necessary but this tool makes it easy to remove. But definitely not needed Amazon.com

POST 7Original post

Hope this helps explain the steps: FCP Euro also has a vid on YouTube showing the AOS replacement.

POST 9Original post

I think I figured out the issue. It looks like the grooved circle portion on the clip is broken underneath. So the tabs aren't springing out when you squeeze. This is a screen shot from the FCP video. My clip is broken where the arrow is. I have new hoses on order. Is there a way to detach this clip with a tiny screw driver?

POST 10Original post

If you are getting new hoses just snip the tab off???
