Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Evening guys. So I’ve done several searches and can’t even find what these are called! One of the seals is uneven and appears to be partially trapped under the body coloured strips, I’ve tried pushing the flaps down as if fitting roof bars to try and see how these are fastened to the roof to try and free the seal. Would appreciate any advice, Thanks

Yeah tried taking a couple but it’s not to clear under the lights in the garage.

So it turns out the strip pops off with a couple of gentle tweaks with a plastic trim lever, cleaned and manipulated the seal back into its proper position.

I just had to do similar as I noted one of the trims was further forward than the other, so left a small gap at the rear instead of tucking just under the rear window seal, was able to unclip and nudge it along 4/5 mm and snap back in. Still think I have a little leak from the top of the rear window that only happens occasionally and is not sunroof drains!

be really careful. The procedure for those strips is well documented in the service manual, and it basically says that the clips are meant to be destroyed upon every removal and should be replaced. here is the part numbers: Clips (8 required. 4 each side) 986 563 721 00 Gasket: 996 563 361 00 (left) 996 563 362 00 (right)
