Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

I fixed it temporarily with heat shrink tubing and electrical tape, but not ideal.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello all, I had to replace a bulb in my 996 Litronic headlghts, the harness inside the light started to crumble exposing the bare metal of the wires....not good. I fixed it temporarily with heat shrink tubing and electrical tape, but not ideal. Are there replacement harnesses out there on the marketplace, I did not find anything when searching but these things can be hard to find so maybe someone here knows where to get them or a link to how to rebuild yourself. Thanks, Anders

POST 3Original post

Barring what adrian is up to, liquid electric tape is the best way to at least stabilize things.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks, tried to search the forums but did not find this nugget...

POST 5Original post

Go easy on how much, I'd try and keep it off the connectors, you may want to take the harnesses apart at some point and if you have the glue in the connecter thats a pain in the neck..
