Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

14 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Does anyone know if all 996.2 have pollen filters? My c4s doesn’t have one under the trunk. Thanks

POST 2Original post

I would have thought they all have. It should be just under that plastic cover at the back of the trunk on the passenger side

POST 3Original post

Yep...passenger side and clearly visible with the battery cover and right hand side trim piece removed

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I don’t have that, I will post a pick later, thanks for getting back to me.

POST 8Original post

Hmm...yep missing and 2 things to note. What is that bracket which I don't think is standard and if the cover has been missing for a while and the car has lived outside been washed etc then water may have traveled right through the fan motor into the car?

POST 10Original post

Everything there is as it should be. That brackets off a 997 though I think. Like here (LHD so opposite side):

POST 11Original post

In this case mine is missing the bracket what purpose does it serve ?

POST 12Original post

There's a cover that goes over it that's on the 997, not the 996. The bracket holds the cover from getting 'sucked in' I guess.

POST 13 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Found it! Turns out I was looking on the wrong side. Thanks all. Mine doesn’t have that metal bracket.
