Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I’ve checked the fuse and replaced but hasn’t changed anything.
Leading evidence: 'Check fuse' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check fuse' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Like you, once the initial overspill stops (when the tank is filled) no other leaks.

I’ve taken the off side front wheel off and liner and inspected the filer neck.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

When refilling my 996 4S it leaks a large about of fuel. The pump clicks immediate so I’ve tried rotating the pump or pulling it out slightly. It fills up no problem then but seems to leak a large about of fuel that comes out from under the under tray. The tank will fill up and then there is no leaking at all once it’s filled. So it just seems to be when I’m filling it because immediately after refilling there isn’t a drop that leaks out after.
I’ve taken the off side front wheel off and liner and inspected the filer neck. Can’t see any sign of where it might be leaking. I have then filled it with 5 litres of petrol with a funnel and Jerry can and looked to see if there is a leak. But nothing leaks at all.
I’m starting to think maybe the bleeder valve as I can’t hear a click when I open the nozzle hole but still don’t understand why that would cause it to leak. I’ve checked the fuse and replaced but hasn’t changed anything. Still can’t hear the click.
I’ve seen a few post about if the bleeder valve is faulty normally the fuel comes back out at you but this isn’t happening to me.
My current thought process is the bleeder valve is faulty and is permanently closed. Then when refilling the pressure can’t escape and the fuel in the tank is finding another way of coming out.
Interested in this. I have had recurring fuel smells in the cabin and around the front right wheel arch. Carbon canister replaced and fuel cap. Came to a head when I was filling the tank up and once finished there was fuel dripping from the undertray. I haven’t used it much since due to work/health issues, but I am going to get my Indy to look at it in the spring when I get it back on the road.
I wondered about a leak in the filler tube to the tank from one of the gaskets perhaps. Like you, once the initial overspill stops (when the tank is filled) no other leaks.
When I first brought mine home and stuck it in the garage there was a strong smell of fuel. I was thinking ‘oh no’!
Turns out the O ring on the filler cap was cracked in several places. £14 later and no smell whatsoever - cheapest repair so far
