Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

10 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1Original post

I thought I’d share my first Porsche finally, after getting it in September. It’s a 2008 Cayman S Porsche Design Edition 1. Its number 611 of 777, I got lucky and it came with a few of the original goodies like the briefcase. It’s only at 25k miles and I’m thrilled with how clean the car is. This is a wife approved “safer“ alternative to my 260z. So far I’ve added PCCM Plus but I plan to leave it mostly alone.

POST 2Original post

Lovely car. Love the Turbo wheels. What were the EXCLUSIVE options? Black always looks great on these. Mine was the opposite of yours. High miles and a stripper base. (Heated seats, sound plus, 18" S ii wheels were the only options.)

POST 3Original post

Great looking "Special Edition" (AKA - lipstick car.. when Porsche has announced a new release of an existing model, they usually take the last of the "old" model and make some sort of special edition. There were a number of SE's made out of the 2008 987.1 series - including the pumpkin Boxster .) I thought I'd bring one of your photos to the surface of the thread rather than hidden behind a click-link. When you have a moment - please read: https://www.planet-9.com/threads/posting-photos-in-posts-to-planet-9.253974/ That will explain how to crop/resize photos so they appear in the thread, not as an attachment. The resolution of the original photo I resized was high enough to use on a 30 foot jumbotron... way higher than any home monitor or tv. When the resolution is that high, the system here will make it an attachment so the users don't have to wait minutes for a thread to load. That can be avoided with a few simple steps before posting the images. And thank you FOR posting images! It always makes a new member's introduction much more interesting!

POST 4Original post

Beautiful Cayman ! Welcome! Very different experience from an early Z but they are both fun in their own ways.

POST 5Original post

YAY, I have the same model and just took ownership summer 2025 too! MIne is #267, and I got it with 55K mi, and wow yours is so low on mileage! How are you enjoying the PCCM+? Congratulations!

POST 6Original post

PCCM Plus has been very worth it. Porsche Toronto had the best price. The install wasn’t too difficult either, my car had an iPod and Sirius radio extra boxes which I got to remove and buy more MOST loops to cut out. I still need to remove the dvd nav and cd changer in the frunk. Have you found the hot wheels and minichamps PDE1?

POST 7Original post

For exclusive options, as deilenberger, said it’s cosmetic. It was the first use of alcantara in a cayman and the instrument gauge faces are a little different. More details here Porsche Cayman S Design Edition 1 (2008)

POST 8Original post

Now you need to find the watch and other goodies!!!

POST 9Original post

Good luck. Watch will probably cost half the price if the car.
