Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

15 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Curious what everyone on the other side of the pond likes to use for an exhaust system. Here in the US it’s the fister hack to the oem mufflers or fabspeed. I have a full fabspeed maxflo mufflers with catted x-pipe. Pictures of my car attached.

POST 2Original post

...hey there and what a shite show you lot are living in...the lunatics have taken over the asylum ...good luck I have a Top Gear Mild ' mufflers' , DesignTek 200 cel crossover cats and standard 'headers'

POST 3Original post

Designtek st/steel sports back boxes and larger oval tips.... really nice growl when i open the taps and a nice deep burble on tickover that really emphasises the flat 6 sound.

POST 4Original post

Top Gear cats and Top Gear switchable exhaust. V loud when open, perfect when closed...

I'm guessing he thinks the same thing.

POST 6Original post

Top Gear Mild Sport boxes and cheap Chinese headers. I had DANSK but they dropped to bits and nobody involved wanted to know.

POST 7Original post

OEM sports exhaust system with diode cut mod. There is no substitute.

Same here. Sounded awesome when open, and quiet when closed (i.e. not very often!).

First of all - welcome to the forum. Second - you may or may not think the lunatics have taken over the asylum. You may be a fully signed up MAGA GOP diehard, or a true blue demo lefty. Either is fine. Your political leanings aren't an issue. Plus, it's not as if we have got it sorted on this side of the pond - and we have a boll0x economic outlook and a PM who constantly looks like he's about to wet himself. Whereas you have the most robust economy on earth (and only going to get better under DT). Third, I have the standard switchable sports exhaust on the 996 and I love it. On my 993 I wanted the Fister 3's I had on my previous one. But couldn't justify the cost + shipping + import duty so went with the RSR's.

You misread my comment! I said he's probably thinking this - "hey there and what a shite show you lot are living in...the lunatics have taken over the asylum ...good luck" Meaning what we currently have in power. Trump Rocks!!!!

POST 11Original post

I wasn't having a go at anybody, Alex. I'm sorry if that's what was inferred. I'm not good at quoting (I meant to quote the entire piece) but just trying to make the point that we are in just as much of a - if not more than - sh!te show over here. And also that this forum welcomes differences of opinions and positions. Whether Porsche or politics. Back to the thread - there was a time where quite a few of us met at MB World and videoed a number of different exhaust notes. Until we got in trouble. Sundeep must remember.... Does anyone else recall that? CyrusPower organised I think. Long time ago. Those videos exist somewhere and would be a great ref point!

Was that the video hosted by Lee...? Discussing the exhaust, DB monitor measuring the DB's and a drive by...? Watched it only a few weeks ago on his YT channel 9werksTV.

What is this diode mod? Thanks for the warm welcome. I don’t want to speak too much on politics but honestly Trump is doing exactly what he said he would to win the election and Elon plus his team are finding all the fraud and corruption.

Exactly what my American friends in NYC were telling me.
