Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I installed a hose clamp and tightened it up enough to close the leak and fired up the car.
Leading evidence: 'Install hose clamp and tightened it up enough' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Install hose clamp and tightened it up enough' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Last week I was getting these two codes on cold start up...

P1411 Secondary Air System Bank 2
I would fire up the car in the morning and drive about 1/2 mile and get the dreaded yellow CEL just before pulling out of my neighborhood. After clearing the codes the first time, same thing happened at next cold start. Overall, this happened two times. Car was running great, but idle had a 200-300 RPM fluctuation when the light was on, and would get a bit more consistent around 800 rpm once warm. When warm it would still occasionally blip up and down just enough to let me know something wasn't 100%, but it ran fine when on the move.
Anyway, I did some research and found the diagram below on the Pelican Parts site and did some reading. As typical for noob 996 owners, I was expecting the worst and already mentally preparing to remove the alternator to get at the bulk of these parts for inspection... Ugh!
Well, after clearing the codes at my mechanics shop the second time I did a bit more research. After letting the car sit overnight, the next morning I went out to do some back-end digging to see if I could find any loose vacuum hoses or something visibly wrong before firing up the car again. Low and behold, I started tracing the hoses that were in easy reach and found that little rubber t-junction (circled in red) was split up the middle where the single hose connects to be split in two directions. I installed a hose clamp and tightened it up enough to close the leak and fired up the car. I was in the engine bay for a total of 5 minutes.
Since then I've cold started the car at least three times and no more error codes. Idle is back to perfect...
Got lucky... feeling very fortunate. I hope anyone who has this same issue and stumbles across this post has it as easy as I did...
hello there! Sorry to redirect an old thread just wanted to find out where I can locate that dome like part item number 6 on the diagram. I seem to be having the same issue and cannot locate where to connect those hoses. TIA! Help please!
That is a vacuum canister. It is located behind the alternator under the Bank 1 intake plenum. See here for a diagram and part number
