Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

15 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • 911uk: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

Generation: 20261026T190023Z · outcome-qualification-6. Deterministic extraction; no AI model inference. How we use sources

POST 2Original post

Wow, that's super cheap for a Hartech rebuilt car.

POST 3Original post

It’s a fairly standard car but that price doesn’t even cover the rebuild!!! That’s less than half what I paid a year ago!!

POST 4Original post

It certainly seems 'priced to sell'. According to MOT history it's hardly been driven in 4 years so I wonder if it's an easy SOR.

POST 5Original post

You could break that up and make a few quid at that price. Engine £5k Gearbox £3k ... Obvs it's a convertible so selling the body will be harder than a coupe.

POST 6Original post

You'd pull more than £5k for that engine. That's bargain of the year and will soon get snapped up. I'd have my lad in it if he hadn't got his Boxster.

POST 7Original post

Oh! A good buy ( hoping that there is no hidden agenda)

POST 8Original post

I think you've got to be careful with people throwing the 'Hartech rebuild' around, when you dig into it, a lot of them have had the minimum done to the one affected bank, rather than a full liners/ sleeves throughout with all new parts jobby, obviously still better than a worn engine that needs a build!

POST 9Original post

if it's had all 6 cylinders that engine is basically worth that.

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I've put a colleague in touch to take it further.

POST 11Original post

The early 3.4 doesn't bore score like the 3.6 so I very much doubt it will be new liners and pistons. That engine rebuild will be most likely new bearings, stuff strengthened and everything cleaned up. Still a bargain though.

POST 12 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I've emailed them for more info but a quick look on the website and they are no strangers to the 996 it seems. Update to follow.

POST 13Original post

That almost sounds like it’s too good to be true. But if everything checks out then someone will get a bargain

POST 14Original post

Wow, super cheap, hartech at least £10k rebuild, wonder what’s wrong with it.

POST 15Original post

That rebuild may have only been £5-£8k. All depends on what was done.
