I have replaced the C3 fuse several times with the same issues.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

After its winter hibernation in a heated garage it worked just fine.
Good evening Porsche lovers,
Im new to this forum and I have a problem and i would really appreciate some help!
My lovely 996 C4S Guards Red all original got the following problem:
After its winter hibernation in a heated garage it worked just fine. Yesterday i took it to the car wash and detailed it afterwards.
Locking the car with the remote key seemed to not work, after "unlocking" it the horn sounded twice - beep beep.
C3 fuse was blown and windows, central locking etc did not work.
I have replaced the C3 fuse several times with the same issues. The car is completely dry inside and i have even put a fan in it to assure the dryness.
All help would be really appreciated.
Thank you in advance.
Oskar
Interesting, I have the exact same problem with my 2003 C2 Targa. I narrowed it down something on the red/black wire on pin 4 of the B connector on the immobilizer. I have that wire disconnected from the plug. The alarm system works fine, but I don't have any interior, frunk, or engine bay lights.
Hmm, sounds strange. I would really like the lights to work.
Tried to lock the car with the key manually and the alarm worked since it went off when unlocking the car manually again,
The wire goes from the connector to a welded splice point that I have not been able to find yet. From there is goes to many other locations and a couple more splice points. I have the wiring diagrams and it gets complex quickly. I am going to get back after it soon. I will post up if I find anything. Its all in the Bentley manual if you have one.
Good evening.
Happy news!!
After +20 fuses i found the problem.
The "connecting flat stift" in the rear right indicator socket was broken. Cleaned it and bended it. All the electrical functions are now 100%.
Total cost including CRC Electric cleaner approx 25 bucks.
Please let me know if i can help!
Oskar
What do you mean by "Connection flat stift" ?
Your issue was with the rear right blinker? I believe its not within the same fuse system as C3?
I started getting this same issue on a 996 turbo with the C3 fuse.
