This bit I have yet to do as I want to keep hold of my V5C for the moment as I have a couple of trips to Europe planned this summer, however according to the DVAL information on the gov.uk website if you need to change any part of a V5C that is not covered by the standard tear off or online sections, you should hand write the information in the appropriate place on the V5C and along with it any supporting documentation (CoC in this case) and send it to them for review and hopefully issue of an updated document.

Another question, If i went into London and used the ULEZ site to pay the fee....does that also include the congestion charge?

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

So just wondering if my car (03 C4S) is actually ULEZ compliant. Went to my garage in London today for a service and paid the ULEZ charge online which they happily took of course. And the new expansion of the zone starts about 100m from my house lol  Just wondering if it is compliant and I get a letter in the mail, what do it do to tell them it is? Or if it isn't then....it's time to sell lol (anyone want a C4S as I can't pay 17 every day I take it out of the garage. )

POST 2Original post

I expect it's Euro 3 standard. Needs to be at least Euro 4.

POST 3Original post

Re: Is 03 C4S ULEZ compliant or not? Conflicting information It is complaint, meets Euro 4 regs even if it was registered before the Euro 4 date When you put it into the ULEZ checker what came up ?

POST 4Original post

Need to write to Porsche UK to obtain a certificate of conformity: [email removed] They'll send you a form to fill in and then send the certificate by post. Once received, send a copy to TFL and you're sorted.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thats the thing....the ULEZ checker kept crashing and not working lol. :worship: thanks so much mate!! This is awesome

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks again all, also ...looks like the TFL website has a link where you can register your vehicle if you believe it does meet the criteria. https://tfl.gov.uk/modes/driving/compliance-registration/before-you-start

POST 8Original post

ive just checked my car on the website..A November 2002 996 Carrera 4 and it is saying it is compliant so no payment would be required

POST 9Original post

It's a mixed bag, unfortunately. Mine is 2001 3.4 and didn't show as compliant, but is. I know my Subaru is, too, but can't prove it - Subaru aren't really interested in Khan's environmental rip-off woops I mean climate crisis.

POST 10Original post

If you are not sending in a certificate from Porsche, do yourself a favour and take a screenshot of the TFL page with the info. I checked my 98 car via there site, drove to London a couple of times with no problem. A month later i got an £80 fine. Punched in the details again..... didn't recognise it complied. Stumped up the fine. Then had the certificate from Porsche which proved it complies. £80 pound lighter though. :x

POST 11 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for the tip, if i can ever get this damn site to work i'll take that screenshot. I've already emailed Porsche for how to proceed to get a certificate but I think like in your case I'm going to be a few £ lighter this round. Another question, If i went into London and used the ULEZ site to pay the fee....does that also include the congestion charge? Or do I need to do that separately?

POST 12Original post

When you put your car details in it will tell you if what you need to pay, CC and ULEZ will both be there. It is also free to register your car for autopay as from this week too. So probably best just to add it and then it is done, easy to forget if doing it after the fact.

POST 13Original post

The compliance thing is confusing. Euro 4 and 6 are umbrella standards to apparently simplify which cars are or are not compliant. The KEY is not the standard but the NOX level for the said vehicle. So regardless of what euro standard your car is what determines whether you are compliant or not is the NOX. Here are the facts: To comply your NOX reading must be 0.08 g/km. You can find this on your V5. If it is not on there then you have an older car which will mean getting a Certificate of Conformity from the manufacturer. This will show the NOX level and that is what will make you car exempt (or not). This was covered in detail in an article in EVO magazine so i am not making this up. The proof of the pudding is as follows: I have a 98 Lotus. The COC shows a NOX level of 0.076 thus my 1998 car is compliant. I emailled TFL and attached a scanned copy of the COC. 4 days later i recieved a letter saying I was compliant. But it would take the DVLA up to 10 days to update the records. 3 months later, when i type in my reg no to the ulez checker i get the message that no records exist. I contact TFL agai (and again just to be sure) who say that in the event of my car not being on the official database then it will be added to a 'Hot list' (their words) and there will be no problem. As my car is hibernating I have not yet checked this out. So in summary if your NOX level is 0.08 or below you are compliant.

POST 14Original post

I went through this process with both TfL and CAZ for the other ULEZ zones. TfL were much easier to deal with, confirmed it was on teh list once I submitted a COC in 3 working days. CAZ took more like 2 months but that is run out of DVLA. I wrote it up on BoXa net as a How To, link and text reproduced here: https://www.boxa.net/topic/95277-ho...with-tfl-london-ulez-and-caz-clean-air-zones/ Clean Air or Ultra Low Emission zones have recently been introduced in the UK. The largest is London' Ultra Low Emissions Zone (ULEZ) which encompasses all road inside the North Circular (A406) and South Circular (A205) and in addition Clean Air Zones (CAZ) are now running in Birmingham, Portsmouth and Bath with future zones planned for Bristol, Oxford, Liverpool. Manchester, Bradford, Newcastle Upon Tyne, Glasgow and Edinburgh. LONDON (the easy one) This zone is set and administered by Transport for London (TfL) and non-compliant vehicles are subject to £12-50 per day charge. A complaint vehicle is as follows - Petrol EURO 4 (NOx only) compliant or diesel, EURO6 compliant. The 986 was built and sold before EURO 4 was an official standard and to further complicate things in the late 90's and early 00's not all first registration documentation had the emissions section completed. However the 986 (2.5, 2.7 and 3.2) versions is actually compliant in nitrogen oxide emissions to comply with EURO 4 but the documents do not show this to get compliance by default on the TfL database. What you need to do: Contact Porsche Cars Great Britain on 03457 911911 option 4 and ask them for a Certificate of Conformity (CoC) and they will email you application form. Complete this along with a copy of your V5C and they will apply to Porsche in Stuttgart for a duplicate for the certificate for your specific car based on the VIN, this service is free. They say allow 28 days, but mine came in about 2 weeks. Now contact TfL via the 'Make an enquiry' button on this web page: Contact ULEZ - Transport for London (tfl.gov.uk) From this you will get an enquiry number and an initial enquiry letter response linked to your vehicle on an email. Reply to this email using the enquiry number an attach your CoC and V5C scans and in the text draw their attention to section 46.1 of your CoC that shows the NOx level is below the EURO 4 level. In about 2 or 3 days you'll get a reply hopefully stating you vehicle will be added to the database but it can take a few days. I checked mine after they confirmed it was compliant and it was there, I checked about 3 weeks later and it had gone so contacted them again (same email trail) and it is now there every time I check. Each time they replied under 3 working days and once it was same day. Clean Air Zones The CAZ are administered by a section of DVLA so is accessed via the gov.uk website here Enter the vehicle registration (number plate) (drive-clean-air-zone.service.gov.uk) Run your car through the system and if it is non compliant you need to contact them via GOV.UK - Clean Air Zone Support (dvla.gov.uk) . This is the bit that takes time as their responses are well outside teh 15 days they claim tog et back to you in. Explain you have a vehicle (give the reg and VIN) that has NOx emissions that are below teh EURO 4 NOx level but that is older then teh EURO 4 standard. Where you can upload a document, add your CoC and in the text of the query also note section 46.1 as giving a compliant figure. Hopefully in about 3 - 4wweks they will come back and say you are registered as compliant, but as ever, check! The CAZ application for mine took about 14 weeks as I didn't know what they needed as they never said it was NOx only that counted which London clearly and helpfully does so there was a bit of back and forth which took time with the slow replies. Hopefully is you follow teh above it might only take 3 to 4 weeks or up to 8 if you ahve to go back to them. Emissions Data on V5C (when they are blank) This bit I have yet to do as I want to keep hold of my V5C for the moment as I have a couple of trips to Europe planned this summer, however according to the DVAL information on the gov.uk website if you need to change any part of a V5C that is not covered by the standard tear off or online sections, you should hand write the information in the appropriate place on the V5C and along with it any supporting documentation (CoC in this case) and send it to them for review and hopefully issue of an updated document. I'll report back in due course....

POST 15Original post

Helpful post above, thanks. I have a ULEZ compliant and CAZ compliant 996 C4S (except Birmingham and Bristol). Someone in Birmingham and Bristol or the DVLA cocked something up? My CoC clearly shows the car meeting Euro 4 standards.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
