Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

You could check these guys, they are in Leicester but perhaps they can do it remotely?

Anyways, I have to use the key to unlock the doors, but the central locking does not work and I have to go inside to unlock the passenger side - is there a knack to it?

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi there,
Just two weeks into ownership of my C4S. The car came with broken keys. The remote buttons do not work and the ignition only recognises one key - I think the other is missing the “chip”.
Anyways, I have to use the key to unlock the doors, but the central locking does not work and I have to go inside to unlock the passenger side - is there a knack to it?
Also, on entering the car I have to quickly put the key in the ignition and turn it on to stop the alarm going off - is this normal behaviour?
Thanks
Ps obviously I need to get a new key but would be useful to know in the meantime
*edit*
I have answered my own question. It’s covered in the manual. The behaviour is normal using the key only apparently, i need a new key quickly
I’ve been quoted £500 for a new key (which is ridiculous), does anyone know some cheaper options?
Thanks
You could try Pixels Fixed. Just sorted my non functioning key head. Mine was new from Porsche 2/3 years ago and died a year ago. Finally got around to getting it sorted. The website doesn't really mention Porsche, but I had a recommendation on here and he did a good job. He travels periodically to different areas of the country, so it could be a month before he's in your area.

Thanks, I already contacted Boyd and his quote was very good. The problem I have is that I only have one working key so I don’t want to risk sending it him. I may have to wait for him to visit my area.
BTW did you return the key to Porsche? I would have, as failure after 2/3 years is unacceptable especially given what they charge.
I would check your
car insurance
policy as it may cover lost keys. I had a broken key, which I then lost
. Insurance covered thr cosy of the key and programming to the car
I did the first time after 6 months. It was fixed in less than 15min in the workshop with no advance notice, so guessing the battery was just dead after a long period of storage.
After 2 years I figured they'd just tell me it was out of warranty and I'd need to pay for diagnostics and then probably another new key.
I got a quote from them. £960 for a pair of keys, they say that they cant do anything with my existing keys. Seems very excessive.
Does anyone know if there is a possibility to reprogram the keys? - they were working fine until the battery was disconnected for a ling period of time.
That’s inline with quotes I’ve had from my key guy (who is usually reasonable) and La Rose Porsche.
So long as the key is complete (one of mine is missing a chip) they should be able to reprogramme.

At least they would give you a quote, which can help you judge whether other quotes you receive are "reasonable".
