Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Sadly my 996 has finally gone, after a couple of years of very little use due to a worsening back condition that unfortunately means it's too uncomfortable to drive. I'll miss it, but time to move on. Every cloud has a silver lining, as my new car is an Overfinch Range Rover (which is far more comfortable). I wanted to thank those of you who have offered advice in response to my various questions over the last 8 years or so, and also to thank the organisers of the superb Porsche events that I have attended. The standout memory is taking part in the 911 parade at the 2013 Silverstone Classic - fantastic. If anyone finds a way to get a Range Rover seat in a 911 I may well be back.

Sad to see you go Doug, you've been around a long time. Enjoy the Rangie, and it always gives you the scope to upgrade to a Cayenne in the future! [ ] [ ]
