Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Leading evidence: 'Install 2' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Install 2' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi guys
Just watched a review on utube about the PCCM plus a Porsche replacement for the old pcm system on the 996, seems expensive at £2200 anybody else seen this I'm sure there is an independent equivalent at a lower price.

I've fitted 2 to 997 turbos with bose .. both have not worked properly .. white noise , over amplified and expensive ..
Non bose and it works fine.
See the link for more info on these .
I'm sure one of the OPCs was doing them for £1200-1300 but not sure if that was plus vat or if it included maps
Problem is if the cost is c£2000 then that is 10% of the value of the average 996.
I would love one but can't justify that kind of money on a stereo
I paid £1350 for mine the week they came out, so unless there has been some kind of price hike, no clue where the £2k price came from. Also get on the Porsche classic car register for owning a 996, completely free and they will knock another 10% of that price, wish I knew before I got mine. Value to me seems great, it's everything you would expect in a brand new car, android auto, carplay, tomtom map, DAB, bluetooth phone integration and voice assistant and if you have a 996.2 your audio info and map directions will appear on your gauge cluster, with the best feature being it looks factory, no ugly surrounds of off colour key backlighting or interface.
When you also consider Kenwood charge over £1100 for their latest aftermarket radio designed specifically to fit in VW's from around 10 years ago paying around £1200 once you apply the discount for an OEM Porsche radio for what to may is now considered a classic isn't bad at all in my book.
You could save a few hundred on an aftermarket double Din with adapter face surround, new DAB antenna (plus optical adapters if you have a facelift car) but then you have spent probably 80% of the price for a system with no integration with the car, a rat nest of aftermarket wiring, hurts resale value and to be frank looks cheap and tacky.
Just my honest opinion based on having had a 986 and a 996 and between them have fitted and tried out a CDR22, CDR23, PCM1, PCM2 and a kenwood aftermarket double DIN before getting my PCCM and my honest opinion is it's expensive but there simply isn't a better option, buy it and you have the ultimate stereo for you car, check out the other threads if you want to see what others are saying but can't see a bad word about it by anyone with one.
Found the Porsche classic link looks like it is actually 15% discount

I picked mine up from Reading OPC. It's 15% off parts and labour when the part is fitted by the OPC which if you prefer the radio fitted by them is pretty competitive pricing compared to buying and getting somewhere decent to fit it. But as a DIY'er they give me 10% off parts without fitting, the same as you get with a PCGB membership without the membership fee.
