Thanks chaps, very helpful - I like the look of the stuff Colin does - and whilst there are alternatives available, I like the idea of a bespoke set made in the UK.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
50 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

Also have 2 decent quality bags for the rear shelves , for us, problem solved at a sensible price
Having owned the car for 3 weeks, it’s time to go for a run abroad, cacking myself at the thought of grinding the centre locks on euro tunnel.
Any suggestions for luggage much appreciated , or do you just use soft luggage and cram it in ?
Have you checked the Porsche site. There are luggage sets that are designed to fit specific models....such as the
PTS Multiwheel® Ultralight Edition 2.0
and if you search for RIMOWA PORSCHE on eBay you'll find some really nice luggage they did in partnership, some being more deeper trunk shaped to fit certain models....such as

Eastpak for me.
I spent 25 years travelling the World for work and they are a great balance of durability and flexibility without shouting "steal me" or costing the price of a decent roadtrip.
Lots of sizes (and colours), good internal storage/organisation, 2 wheelers save your arms rather than carrying and compression straps mean everything stays put inside even if you don't fill it up.
Smart enough that they don't look "poverty spec" when checking in to a decent hotel either!
Tranverz and Transit'R ranges get the thumbs up from me.
https://www.eastpak.com/uk-en/luggage-c140/tranver...
Shopping around they are typically £100 for a "medium" size and £130 for a Large. Spend the savings on fuel and wine.

Have not done it for a while, but go on the carriages for vans and caravans and campers (not trucks). Otherwise it will be tense, particularly when the narrow bits come up you have to swerve round...

Eastpak for me too. Strong, lightweight and come in sizes that fit 911's & Boxsters perfectly.
Specify that your car has a roof box and go in with the trucks, etc. They recommend this anyway for sports cars with ULP tyres.
We have Eastpak luggage (1 small, 1 Med, butterfly syle bags). Med fits ideally in frunk, with room for small on top, plus other bags,
etc.
2 mediums would probably fit.
Thanks so much for all the recommendations .
especially the euro tunnel , been on there many times , but I am suddenly fearful of scraping the centre locks !
Off for a quick trip to Netherlands in 2 weeks, then in September we plan to recreate an old bike trip we done on the Hayabusa 17 years ago , French / Swiss Alps and drop in to Italy , 3/ 4 weeks .
Need to do the Simplon Pass again.

I always choose "RoofBox" or whatever on the Eurotunnel website - then follow the signs to the "Large" vehicle lanes.
I don't *think* it costs me more, but probably cheaper than a new alloy!
Never had an issue with Eurotunnel staff etc...
I ticked "roof mounted bikes" or whatever the option is called, but ended up hiring a bike in Morzine so didn't take mine, just drove the 996 onto the train behind the vans and so on with no one raising an eyebrow.

I like to think the Euro Tunnel know and accept what we're trying to do?
No one bats an eyelid

Quite. It’s understood and accepted and probably saves them hassle of cars being to low/fat and either getting stuck or loading/unloading excessively slowly.
Another vote for the Rimowa. It holds 74 litres. Porsche in fact sized the 918’s boot around the Ultralight XL case - it’s a perfect fit.

That looks absolutely class for a European road trip. My only concern would be the huge temptation for someone to break in for the bags. Just a little bit of caution to applied when leaving the car.
I have a white 911 (992) and bought a matching Rimowa that fits in the front. Lots of room in it for all of Mrs roaringopenfire's clothes and washbags etc. Dealer gave a 10% discount.

Turn left for the large/tall vehicle lane after French customs...
Don’t forget to change to km/h (and save to memory using the key button on the door to keep it there) and switch your headlight pattern in Settings. Use the Good to Know app on your phone for details.

I bought this and it doesn't fit the same as yours does....have I bought the wrong model of case? I have a 991.2.
I got it from eBay for a good price and it's still a lovely case.....

That was good advice, thanks.
I stopped in a Porsche showroom in NL and had my hand on one of those 74 litre cases for the front, in white too.
Was €690 euros (£585 )which made me hesitant, regret not taking it now.

Yes it is expensive but actually very good value for a Rimowa.
Bit of a heads up on this subject
For the front trunk I have just purchased 2 of these :

Well, we’re now on holiday for 3-4 weeks, and 2 of the above bags fit mm perfect in the frunk , with a tad of space to lay a couple of lightweight jackets.

We had a custom set made up as below, cost circa £500 for 2 cases that fit nose and 2 for rear seat area. Makes packing easy.
Eirotunnel class 911 as a wide vehicle so put them in the tall / wide carriages with the coaches etc.

Just looked at these for 992 Turbo S but they say because of the shape/size of the froot, the bags don't have wheels! That's a shame.
Any other ideas?

I'm looking for roadtrip luggage for my 991.2 GT3 and like the look of these.
In your photos above do you have 2 or 3 bags in the frunk - there looks to be another on top of the two which sit side by side? Did you get leather or vinyl - looks like leather in the photos which is my preference to be honest!
Another recommendation here for Colin Surman / Bag World
Got these made earlier in the year - 4 bags for the rear seats of 911
These are done in vinyl and am very impressed with the quality
I bought a set of these:
https://roadster-bag.com/products/porsche-911-991-...
They're only for once a year when Mrs NDA and I head to France for 3 weeks or so. She uses all 4 cases on the back seats and I only need one squashy bag in the front trunk. They work extremely well.

Well worth a chat with Colin - he can make bags in either material which just comes down then to cost.

Fitted luggage in a 911 definitely helps maximise the space on the back seats. I didn't buy mine to look chi-chi when turning up at a hotel - just to use the all the space available without having assorted bags sloshing around. Mrs NDA has 4 cases, I get the front trunk - it works perfectly.
This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
