I ask as a few minutes after the temperature warning displayed, the check/EML light came on so I’m wondering if they’re linked or I’ve been really lucky and got multiple issues

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • 911uk: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I knew I’d be here asking for advice but, I didn’t realise how quickly - I only got the car yesterday! I started driving the car earlier and noticed the temperature gauge was going up as it warmed up - it did so fine yesterday - and then about 10 minutes later the red warning light adjacent to the temperature gauge starting flashing and the message ‘temperature failure’ being displayed. First question, is this a simple fix - sensor replacement? Second question, would this fault be likely to cause the engine check/EML warning light/message to appear? I ask as a few minutes after the temperature warning displayed, the check/EML light came on so I’m wondering if they’re linked or I’ve been really lucky and got multiple issues
