I checked the oil to make sure it wasn't milky, thankfully it wasn't and it was confirmed today by Porsche that it's a coolant pipe at the top of the engine, so it's an engine/gearbox out job!

Car is at Porsche getting a new rear tyre fitted thanks to Ikea carpark and some workshop item about a phone aerial although I've never had any issue with the stereo.

The previous owner of my car had the hassle of getting both turbos replaced under warranty, about 4K miles ago, so fingers crossed I will not have a reoccurrence of this issue as, I've read, the turbos have been revised to resolve the issue.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. I m 9 months into ownership and I m still staggered by a few less obvious qualities of this car. For the record, my first Porsche was a Carrera S, which I only had for a few weeks before trading to the GTS (loved that too).
Yes, it s genuinely very quick, yes it handles remarkably but what amazes me just as much is how it behaves in boring mundane situations. Mine s shamefully a bit of a garage queen and as I haven t used it much recently I thought I d take it for a jaunt this afternoon. Quite heavy traffic and our West Sussex roads are crap but after a 35 mile drive, pootling along our now 40 and 50 mph roads, it was still a fantastic place to be. Even at normal speeds, it s a genuinely lovely car to drive and appreciate.
Incredibly it also averaged 35mpg and ok, I was travelling with a line of cars most of the way but managed a couple of fast blast, so that s truly incredible.
Can t be many near 200mph sports cars that are so versatile!
They’re not near 200mph cars, they’ll run just north of that 😀
I enjoyed daily driving, European trips and a little track work in my 991.2 GTS and loved it.
I’ve just got into a 991.1 GTS and am back from a couple of thousand miles into Europe - always wanted to try one. The NA sound is so much better but no surprises there. They’re both as economical (relatively speaking) as each other and obviously the NA engine hasn’t got the low down grunt but it more rewarding up in the revs for it.
Steering better on the .2 but hardly night and day.
Both superb cars and I can’t see them getting any cheaper now given they should be considered as the last of a generation.
I have a 991.1 GTS 3.8 in Riviera blue. It is a real pleasure to drive quickly or slowly.
I have been across France, Germany and the UK in it and (other than the crappy concrete bit of of the M25) it is a joy everywhere!
I think having a 2018 GTS is a massive bonus. I never really got on with my 991.2 after my NA 991.1. Mine was a 2019 car which I believe was the first 911 to have them PPF? It ruined the sound for me. But not much outside of a GT3 sounds better than a 991.1 GTS!

FYI get C5 sealant on those Centre locks to protect the anodisation :-)
Lovely and by far the best colour. I'm pondering selling mine - they hold value incredibly, going on what it's been valued by a few places, so rest well if it's a keeper for you - but then I give it a little wash and have to say it does look good.
Best non GT car if you need 4 seats occasionally.

I would love to get my hands on a RB one as I have a RB 991.1 GT3 and it would be cool to have the pair. So if you ever look to sell, please let me know!
As for the noise, exhaust note on the 991.1 GTS is better than the GT3 most of the time!

Great cars. Until the bloody turbos and engine mounts let go. Don't ask me how I know...
Make sure you keep it under warranty.
Didn’t they do a recall for the engine mounts ? I know I had mine done when I had one but can’t remember if they went or it was a recall .
As far as I know there is no upgraded part and they carry over to the 992 as well. But that's what warranties are for and the OPC one is by far the best one out there. 21k on mine and no issues and most will never have them.
You can refinish the wheels: strip the paint and clear lacquer them. I saw a really nice 992.1 GTS in the Porsche Classifieds last year that had done just that and it looked much better for it particularly with the PTS paint chosen on the car (it was a gorgeous Fjord Green). My GTS wears the conventional bolt wheels from the Carrera S in silver. Yes, they are bit heavier, cast rather and forged and less fancy than the centre locks but black wheels would have been a deal breaker for me - again - given the exterior colour of my car.
I do recognise that black wheels look very good against some car bodywork colours, but in my opinion black wheels are very colour sensitive whether it clashes and looks naff.

Yes I too would do just that. An OPC once told me that a GTS without the centerlocks wasn’t worth as much as one with. They might look good but five-bolt wheels are much easier to live with.

Glad someone else feels that way. I can just about admit to liking black centre Fuchs wheels on a period correct 911 or 944, anything else, silver or grey please.
Owned mine 2 years and loved it massive spec took to Le Mans and a France/belguim road trip perfect partner

PDK, sorry. Manual is waaaay too long so it didn't feel fun at all and I didn't want to go down the gearbox mod route although many have with RPMTechnik.

My opinion:
The silver and gold does NOT work to my eyes.
I had a Dolomite Silver Cayman with Satin Platinum OEM painted alloys which looked very sharp. Nice contrast and not clashing. Have a gander at Satin Platinum and see what you think.

The Neodyme/California is a lot more subtle and not as saturated as it looks in that render. It does work but IMHO, on a darker grey (Slate/Vanadium).

I think those wheels look great in silver. Black does them no favours.

I agree the Neodyme is the most subtle whilst still working. ChatGPT doesn't seem that good at finding these colours so next time I'll upload two images, one with the colour I want and the OG image.
Thanks

They offered an effective shorter gearing for the GT4s and can do other such things to any 911
https://rpmtechnik.co.uk/transmission-upgrades/
I can't remember the costs and they're not on their website now but I'd imagine it'd be a few thousand while you invalidate your warranty. Best thing is to try both and see what works for you. You might might like the 7 speed manual but I didn't get on with it.
RPM also have a GTS manual and a GTS4 in PDK at the moment so it might be worth you popping in.

Have a look at Weiss Gold, might work with Silver.
Just been out for an hour round N Yorks, it’s filthy and all the better for it.
Get them out of the garage while you can chaps, the s

My 2018 sprung a coolant leak. I checked the oil to make sure it wasn't milky, thankfully it wasn't and it was confirmed today by Porsche that it's a coolant pipe at the top of the engine, so it's an engine/gearbox out job! A lot of labour for a £150 coolant pipe. A Porsche warranty is my new best friend.

My succinctly named 911 Targa 4 GTS.
Love the car, love the spec.
I'm not normally a black wheels guys but I think they suit this spec perfectly. They just give me the heeby jeebies around curbs. I managed to scratch one the other day and now it is bugging the hell out of me.
This is a useful thread. I have a 2017 Carmine GTS, and I've never been a fan of the black wheels (yet, they also look right... ). I'm also in the "Might sell it as I really want a manual" club; but in the 2 years I've had it, I've yet to see a manual in the same spec. It's quite frustrating!

Considering it yes. Car is at Porsche getting a new rear tyre fitted thanks to Ikea carpark and some workshop item about a phone aerial although I've never had any issue with the stereo. Guess they want to keep busy
It'll be back in a week or so as I can't get over to collect it. Aside from those things it's perfect. Happy to discuss offline.

I fancied a manual when I bought my car a few months back but couldn't wait for one :-)
On Autotrader there are 33 rear wheel drive .2 GTSs and only 1 is manual (it's a lovely looking Miami Blue Cat S) and 9 AWD .2 GTSs for sale and NOT one is a manual car.
