Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Good evening everybody, I have an occasion to buy for a very cheap price a set of winter tyres for 996. Front tyres are the same size, 225, but rear tyres are smaller (265 instead 285). Porsche says are fine with my rims 10Jx18, however I would like to have confirmation. Anyone experienced that?

POST 2Original post

I'm interested too, especially on a C4... I really want some winter tires for next season!

POST 3Original post

I've had 265s on 10-in rims. They are fine. I think they are original spec on some. Also, 265 will be better than 285 for snow tire. You want them skinny. Like pizza cutters.

Thank you. Other option would be to buy a set of 17 rims, but I dont like it.

POST 5Original post

I run that exact size and theyve been fantastic, even during our hard Canadian winters. Kumho Wintercraft WP71 for reference.

POST 6Original post

LOL nothing says Canadian winter like the pile of logs in the background.. if your AWD, what sizes are you running front and rear?

Hahaha, yeah, I posed her with the logs to emphasize her ruggedness. 225/40R18 on 8 wide front and 265/35R18 in 10 wide rear. So in my case standard winter setup for the C4S.
