It was the due to worn bushes and was quoted £600 from OPC who then did it for free as a goodwill gesture as I had only had the car for 2 weeks.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Old forum user Unidentified(11139) wrote: My 996 has developed a rather loud creak from the drivers side front wheel area. It occurs whenever i accelerate /decelerate - when the weight is transfered front to back. When stationery if i wiggle the steering wheel to the right I get the creak and if i push down on the wing. I'm guessing it's something like a top mount or one of the many bushes in the suspension but I can pin point what exactly because when i jack the car up to get underneath and take the weight of the wheel I cant initiate the creak. Anyone had a simmilar thing? can anyone narrow it down? thanks in advance Migration info. Legacy thread was 124880

POST 2Original post

I had a creak from the front which occured when the steering wheel was turned when parked. It was the due to worn bushes and was quoted £600 from OPC who then did it for free as a goodwill gesture as I had only had the car for 2 weeks. It was a 2002 c2 996 with 34k miles. Good Luck Migration info. Legacy thread was 124897
