I had the alignment and camber checked about 3,000 mile before the last replacement and all was OK.

I am on continentals ( definitely not as good in wet when it counts) with new car but will be going back to michelins when I replace all 4.[:'(]

I've just put 4 Michelin Pilot Sport 2s on my wife's Audi TT 225 to replace P Zeros and I'm very impressed.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi
I have a 2003 C4S that is nearly ready for a new set of tyres and I don't know what ones. I do not push the car to the limit and am more concerned about tyre noise that performance. Any advice would be welcome, the original P Zero's have last 12000 miles. Is this the norm.
Thanks Graham
IME, Michelin Pilot Sport are much less noisy than P-Zero's and last longer, too. Grip is excellent, wet or dry. Only downside is they are more expensive, but they do last much better to compensate.
I'd second that. The Michelin Pilot Sports are the best tyre I have had (and I've tried all sorts!). They grip very well in the dry and wet and last the longest of all the tyres. Downside is they are the most expensive.
I've found Continental Sport Contact 2's to be noisy and poor dry grip, Pirelli PZero's to have good dry grip but wear very quickly. The Yokohamas and Toyos are good value and grip well but last less than 10,000 miles on the car I tried them on (Mazda MX-5).
The only other tyre I would go for on a performance car is the Goodyear GSD3, but I don't think they do a Porsche N-rated tyre.
Michelins every day ! [

|I agree , Michelins seem to be the best all round, having tried various makes. The one I haven't tried is Bridgestone, but friends who have seem to rate them.

Hi Graham,
Mine's a 2003 C4S Tiptronic. It came with Pirelli P Zero Asymetricos and I've replaced them with the same so far. On average I'm getting around 18,000-19,500 miles from the rears and 28,000-30,000 miles from the fronts. One thing I have noticed is that on the last set of fronts the outer tread was still on 3mm whilst the inner tread was below the wear bar indicator. I had the alignment and camber checked about 3,000 mile before the last replacement and all was OK. I estimate I would have got an extra 1,500 miles if the wear had been more even.
I've just put 4 Michelin Pilot Sport 2s on my wife's Audi TT 225 to replace P Zeros and I'm very impressed. I'll probaly switch to these on mine when I'm next due for an "all four" change.
Good luck with your choice.
Rgds

I went for GSD3s on the recomendation of a local tyre expert and they are awesome!!! Fantastic wet grip, much quieter than either Contis or P-Zeros, and with 12k on them the fronts still look new and the rears about half worn.
Have to admit I didn't know the implications of them not being N rated at the time, but tyre-fitter convinced me that they are the best (he has fitted them on request of other 911 customers, and on Fezzas)...
Blimey!
I got 7500 miles out of my rear Michelins on my 2004 C4S and at 11000 miles the front is letting go all to often signalling the end is nigh for the fronts.
I think I need some lighter shoes...
I will add that the Pilot Sports are incredible...great grip wet and dry, not too noisy, progressive break away - although not so good when the fronts start to wear. (Mine are down at 4mm ish and they are starting to frighten me!)
Glen.
Well done that man [

I had conti on a previous car and they were worn out at 3K, two sets of tyres and still going !!
I thought the conti were the quietest I had on a car, however the wear was a bit extreme.
I removed Michelin's from my other car due to constant squealing from the tyres even when they were under no duress.
I replaced them with Pirelli which I found to be a great tyre HOWEVER no rim protector, which sadly and only once after 45K in found out to my cost (it was abroad, so my excuse[
])

3600 is definitely a class act!
I have P-Zero Rossos and got about 13-14000 from the last pair of rears and looks like I'm going to get about twice that from the fronts. They are very grippy, wet and dry, and I can't say they are unbearably noisy, but they 'tramline' dreadfully on bad surfaces. I can't wait for them to wear out so that I can try the Michelins.
Hi all,
How much we looking at approx for front and rears?
Budgeting for when I get mine in a few weeks although hoping it has a good set on!
Thanks
