Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Just shocked at an OPC providing any discount. Don’t recall ever getting an email like this in 9 years of being on the list. I take no pleasure in it. If more people were buying Porsches it would be suggestive of a better economy.

POST 5Original post

They look great, like 959 wheels or cf48s. Very 1980s

POST 6Original post

Minimum of £3k off is peanuts on a new Porsche, the fact they are even offering this tells a story. Especially as it is limited numbers with a time limit and the loyalty bulls t, they use the loyalty card when they want something so they can screw you over tomorrow and show loyalty doesn't pay for consumers. Same tactics that scammers use on their marks. Simply put 'f k 'em, let them suffer'. Edited by Inbox on Monday 27th October 18:54

I received exact same email. Not sure how limited the number of available 911s is but the featured vehicles shown at the bottom of the email are the two new 911s on Sheffield’s website.

POST 12Original post

They will have to do better than 3k off. And most already are offering far more than that. Edited to add this from the thread below this one: Various discussions across two different OPCs in the past few months revealed the following when enquiring about a new 911: “A discount of some sort will definitely be applied as we are incentivised to retain existing customers” “About 5% off a factory order, maybe 10% off a stock car is about the current level of discount on 911” Ended up getting 17.5% off a stock 911 T Cab 1 month ago. smile Edited by anonymous-user on Tuesday 28th October 06:46

POST 13Original post

Their biggest problem is finance rates. The price increases are perhaps in line with inflation, but private sector pay isn't. 911 buyers are being squeezed hard and won't stomach £2k a month vs £750 for a 992.1 only a few years back. And the 992.2 isn't that much better - IMHO I'd take the 992.1 with analogue rev counter and a key start instead of that awful button and annoying intrusive systems. This is evidenced in the 992.1 residuals, which are incredible. Porsche are in a pickle. They should lobby VW or their finance house for a 6% finance. Not the double digits they have now.

Porsche profit list for the first 9 months of 2025 fell to 40 million, compared to 4 billion in the same period of 2024. Sales numbers are down massively but they aren’t shifting the profitable models anymore, hence big discounts available across the 992 range currently. Tough times for Porsche, along with many others.

POST 18Original post

Porsche have enough margin in the 911's to offer massive discounts. They would be better to offer some killer finance though, as not many buy a car for £100-200k using their own money. Like stuckmojo says, a 992 Carrera was £750 a month with £10k thrown in and with a balloon payment at the end that was easily paid off or easily refinanced for another 36 months and you have a car you own. Now it is £20k down, £1500 a month and they still want £50,000 at the end. That is for a base Carrera with paint, sport seats, Bose and couple of other small/cheap options.

Isnt this the reason people use Oracle? Or others? The residuals are almost the same today as they were when the 992 came out. But the new price is almost £30,000 more, that is an extra £30,000 to fund over 60 months. Then the fact that you are now funding a much bigger amount with a much higher interest rate and they just get to the point where they are not perceived as giving value. I don't think it matters who you use to fund that, it is a massive increase. Buy a car for £120,000 and fund £100k. Even if that car is worth £100k at the end, it will still cost you £50,000 over the period. So has cost you £70,000. But it is not going to be worth £100k, it is going to be worth around £50-60k trade. Let's say £120k with £20k down. 9.9% over 60 months with £60k balloon. That is going to cost you £142,000.00 over 60 months and you will have to give them another £60,000.00 at the end to keep it. There comes a point where you just say "Nah."

Brilliant - they won't be reading it though, all the sales people will be upstairs sat round the table having a chat in the meeting room behind the glass window where they are always sitting whenever I go into the showroom. Totally agree. I look on the used site regularly but the finance rates are a joke. Subsidise the rate to move motors. Simple.

POST 30Original post

Exactly my findings at Porsche Wycombe and Porsche Hatfield. Wanted a GT product, used obvs… 3 visits to walk around. Lots of nice coffee and engaged receptionists. Sales never bothered to leave the safety of their glass offices. So I bought a McLaren. I don’t like to see failure, but maybe they’ll have to start selling cars now. Could be good for them to learn that skill.

POST 32Original post

I don't think it's just Porsche that have sales people with low skillset. I have found the same recently. Went into BMW, they know a lot about finance but very little about the cars. You ask them as question about a car in the showroom and what spec it has and they have to go look. Wouldn't mind but I had an appointment with them to discuss that model. So you think they'd spend a few minutes swotting up. Guy in Audi didn't know much about the etron GT. He was even googling stuff, didn't know what came as standard, what was an option or what the packages contained. Then Porsche the other day, when he finally came out from the glass office after me waiting ten minutes while he sat there he seemed almost frustrated by me wanting to buy a car from them. Felt like he was doing me a favour talking to me.

I think we are on a bit of a thread drift, however, ive had very similar experiences 3 different Volvo main dealers - ended up buying a car direct online after waiting 3 days for a part ex price (so instead I sold it into the trade via a dealer I know) - which is what the salesman told me is all they do via the volvo website Audi - had bought from them a few months previously for my car, the mrs wanted to change hers so we went back, same salesman left the keys for a test drive as he was busy, when we got back, he was still busy and said he would call me - never heard from him again BMW - absolutely shocking at 2 different main dealers - one salesman led me away from the new cars to something 'within my price range' VW - have to say, we had a great salesman Porsche - also only had a good experience at the local OPC, however, i bought from a different opc on my last purchase due to a cracking price however, the aftersales has been sheeeet, not a car in the world, wouldnt go near them again. Having started out in the motor trade, i no longer recognise the industry which is sad

The receptionist will ask you what you want, and then about 20 minutes later one of them will stub out his virtual cigarette, and then wander aimlessly downstairs - and then couldn't be less interested in what you have to say Yep, f kem. I hope they feel the pain. My discussion with the at mid Sussex regarding a new 991.2 RS stayed with me. Almost 28 years of dealing with them only to be told, nope, you need to buy more cr4p and lose money before we MIGHT sell you one. The sheer arrogance of the place too. All I could of think of was how on earth do they treat customers spending small amounts with them? I hope this teaches them a lesson. Your loyal customers will keep you going in tough times.

Edited by Inbox on Monday 27th October 18:54 Does it say only New porsches ? i'm thinking if its used cars they'll just put an additional 3k on the sticker price

I did a test drive at Chiswick. Never heard a peep again. At the time I was replacing a Range Rover sport that was not ulez compliant. So I had to buy. Choices. Cayenne - test drive never heard. Another RR sport. Again tweet drive. They will call with their proposal. Never heard a thing. Audi. Sorry we don't have a q8 you can look at ( vast edifice on the way to Heathrow. Really you have 4 floors of cars. No q8 and half an hour wait to see a salesman. We have one in next week. Will call you. Never did. The lack of interest was astonishing I would imagine a lot of uk porsche sales have enjoyed been order takers for serval years now, the game has change and they will now have to learn the art of sales to get these deals over the line!

My experience of Porsche sales was actually very good, better than anything else I have experienced elsewhere. The rest of the porsche ownership experience has been a biblical catalogue of cock-ups and lethal disasters from multiple OPC's and an approved bodyshop. There is a version of hell out there with 'Official Porsche Centre' hanging over the entrance.

Just to add balance I've had great service form my OPC over many years and cars...

I haven’t stepped foot in the place myself, mainly because of how I was treated during my last new Porsche purchase, which is a shame, as there used to be a small group of really nice, knowledgeable guys there. I’m actually off to another OPC which is about an hour away tomorrow as a new car is needed!

Guildford per chance ? The investment in the new premesis must be huge. Will they sell a single extra car ? I doubt it. The coffee is biscuits are nice. I was a reading. Would you like lunch sir ? Me stunned. They had a packed lunch alternative which still in shock I said yes to.

Porsche Cardiff’s moved over to Newport and apparently scaled up massively from what I’ve heard chatting to others. Guess nothing stays the same! Another customer described it to me as more like a big BMW showroom now, built to churn out volume.

They have a fantastic product range and should bounce back, it’s just when. The EV stuff is hammering most manufacturers with Euro politics playing havoc on R&D budgets. But they are a luxury item brand and while the super rich keep getting richer, the average Porsche buyer is wondering if they should treat themselves in 2025/26 or wait to see the output of the budget. No one is making money on houses or rental, pensions are probably going to be hammered and CGT looks to take more out of the car spend budget. I foresee some of the flash new porker sites closing.

POST 52Original post

My experience at my OPC has always excellent. Timely response to questions, no BS, honest and always tried to please. Maybe because it is family run business and they respect loyalty and repeat customer?

My experience is, they just lie! and that's not one OPC, that the majority. They don't remember what they have told you, then follow up with a completely different story. "That car is very low mileage and age, has it been rejected?" "no Sir the guy just didn't like it after one week" So you speak to someone else in the OPC "Was that car rejected?" "yes Sir but its ok now" "But there isn't a known solution for the issue in question?" Silence.... I could write a book on just the last 3 years worth of "events"

From the late 90s they leveraged their history to sell a vast number of cars. They diluted the brand by selling non-sports models. I am only slightly surprised that they haven’t introduced a light commercial. Their cars are mostly boring to drive now and they have become just another German car. No one has had more of them than me, but who cares anymore?

Furbo, to be fair to the people at Porsche, they no longer sell their tractor or WWII battle tank. I believe that parts are still available on the former though. And I love my 4RS.

On that subject how do you find it on the road? Have been mulling over the idea of one but have read mixed reviews on suitability for road use. Spyder a little less harsh perhaps ?

I was in collecting my Mrs new Mini yesterday, i popped to the BMW showroom whilst she was chatting. I believe the main issues for Porsche is the sky high APR's.. BMW on basically anything, including their M cars, 5.9 APR compared to Porsches 11.9 % They are killing themselves with small cuts if you ask me, not only is the APR through the Roof, they messed with the Residual values to make any Porsche now a seriously expensive buying proposition

At 5.9% I’d have gone for it. Anyone using PCP at Porsche rates is absolutely insane.

Non GT 911 cars are not a visceral experience… I get it… but they are still hugely capable and you can use them every day. For a lot of people, that’s enough. People who expect less, and get off the hedonic treadmill are generally happier?!

I asked if they could do them in that design and were happy to oblige - “We have a decal guy. We’ll get him in to sort it”. He visited them to get a colour match closest to the Vanadium Grey I wanted (to match the T’s wing mirrors) and fitted them before collection. £195 inc fitting. I’m very happy with the results.
