Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I admit I have NO mechanical knowledge.... I am trying to change the air filters on my 2009 911 C4S (997.2). I have removed the eight screws that hold the air cleaner cover in place. But for the life of me I can't figure out how to disconnect the sensor from the left side of the cover. I watched a DYI video and it looked simple, but I can't seem to figure out how to unlatch the sensor from the cover and I don't want to break the bracket. Could some kind person inlighten me on how it's done? Much thanks! lortone

POST 2Original post

Are you talking about this sensor? If so, there is a tab on top of sensor that runs front to back. It passes thru the two black ribs (I.e. bracket) that hold it in place. The black ribs are attached to air filter cover. Pull up on the end of tab that is away from you; towards front of car. The tab will snap lose and the sensor can be pulled free and set aside.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
