Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi all, Started looking for my first porsche about 12months ago but had to put it on hold when my wife became pregnant for the second time. Baby is now with us and the urge for a 911 is becoming strong again. Budget this time will still need to be for a 996 but I have noticed that the prices of 2002 c4s cars is coming below the £40k level which is the top of my budget. The question I have is whether the c4s has any less space inside than a standard 996 and would this compromise it for use as a family car when neccessary? Obviously most of the time we would take the kids out in the wifes car but for me it will be a daily driver. Thanks in advance Migration info. Legacy thread was 128212

POST 2Original post

I believe the only difference is that the luggage compartment is less deep, so you loose a bit of storage capacity. Migration info. Legacy thread was 128216

POST 3Original post

No less interior space but reduced luggage capacity in the boot. ie no chance of a pushchair fitting in there IMO Migration info. Legacy thread was 128218

POST 4Original post

I'm no expert but hasn't the C4s got less boot space then the 2 therefore making a folding pushchair more difficult to fit in? There are plenty of current 996 C4S or ex C4S + kids owners here that will be along shortly. Migration info. Legacy thread was 128219

POST 5Original post

Quiny Zapp can fit in the 993 boot without any prob, so a 996 will have no trouble! Make sure you don't get her pregnant again otherwise it's goodbye 911! Keep your zips up! Learn the lesson, should've figured out the cause by now! Migration info. Legacy thread was 128226

POST 6Original post

There is about 50%less boot space in the 4, otherwise no problems as a family car, I have an 11 and 6 yr old who are fine in the back. Buy a small push chair and enjoy, IMO if you can buy a 4s over a 2 then dont let the difference in practicality worry you. Migration info. Legacy thread was 128234

POST 7Original post

The Quinny Zapp will fit into the front compartment no probs, and there is plenty of room in the back for a normal child seat. A rear facing babyseat will probably need to go in the front with the airbag deactivation thing fitted. Buy a cobalt blue one, and your kiddywinks will get extra kudos for turning up for school in Sally Carrera from the film Cars! Migration info. Legacy thread was 128272

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Many thanks for the replies. Just got to find the right one now. Anyone have any experience of Amari cars in Preston? Saw a black c4s on their website which might fit the bill. Migration info. Legacy thread was 128273

Another vote here for a Quinny Zap in the front and a Mama's & Papa's Pro Tec in the back. Migration info. Legacy thread was 128282

POST 11Original post

Hi, Yes another vote for the Quinny Zap in the boot, M&P Pro Tec in the back and my daughter from 10 weeks to 9 months was in the Mothercare Graco rear facing in the back. An excellent family car. Alan Migration info. Legacy thread was 128344

POST 12Original post

Similar for me. C4S my daily car and use with my two kids on occasions to go out as a family with no probs. I don't take a pushchair tho. Migration info. Legacy thread was 128402

POST 13Original post

I bought my C4S few weeks ago. I take my 3 year old to nursery everyday. (Mamas and Papas-ProTek seat). I don't use boot much. I find it a hassle as a daily use. It is useful for occassional small shopping/ Tennis gear etc. With a small baby, going out for more than a day, I don't think I will manage with Porche unless luggage spills over to rear seat. But don't let this distract you. Go for the car. You will adapt! It is worth it. After some soul searching and rationalizing, now I bought it, decision seems straight forward. Migration info.
