Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion

I'm having a hard time picturing the ones you mean, but the ones which run along the underside of the roof opening, which seal the top of the door windows, are definitely different.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

can anyone confirm, or not, if the inner door seal ( the one that goes from the top of the windscreen pillar to the top of the door, where it meets the rear wing) from a 986 boxster will fit a 1999 996 C2 Cabriolet? Thanks

POST 2Original post

The inner gasket that runs along door panel and window (according to PET Pos.5) 996.537.531.06 (L) and 996.537.532.06 (R) looks to be the same. Other gaskets have different prefix, although I understood doors are shared on these models. Richard will be along and should confirm. Your OPC should confirm if you call them.

POST 3Original post

I'm having a hard time picturing the ones you mean, but the ones which run along the underside of the roof opening, which seal the top of the door windows, are definitely different. Edit: Following a PM from Vaughn, it seems like the seals are different, as they have different part numbers for 986 and 996 Cabrio.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
