Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

1) Can we fit PCCB on a Cayman non-S assuming that wheel rim size is OK? In the brochure it is stated that a Cayman non-S cannot be fitted with a PCCB, but I believe that it might be marketing BS. 2) What is the difference in the braking subsystem between the stock Cayman and stock Cayman S, besides the different front brake rotor size? Are the following the same part and same size: a) master brake cylinder b) brake hoses c) front and rear 4-pot calipers d) Brake pads Thanks !

POST 2Original post

An interesting thought, PCCB upgrade on a Cayman. Assuming that this has to be done without Porsche's blessing (ie not via new car order option, but by ordering parts after), wouldn't this be a VERY expensive thing to do? Rotors alone are $5,000+ USD EACH. But *can* it be done? I'm sure anything can be done at the right price. -jay

POST 3Original post

To fit it on the Cayman S in the factory, because my country taxes cars, would cost me US$21,000 extra. To fit it aftermarket, buying the PCCB set and fitting it after the car is delivered to Singapore, it costs only US$8,000+ since car parts are not taxed. An obvious decision, don't you think?

You may want to read this FAQ before you decided. http://www.planet-9.com/faq.php?faq=cayopt#faq_pccb

POST 5Original post

Where can you buy a complete PCCB set (separate from the car) for US$8000? Last I heard, it was $20K+ for a set of rotors only. Did the prices drop? -jay

POST 6Original post

Isn't the price here: http://www.planet-9.com/faq.php?faq=cayopt#faq_pccb

POST 7Original post

You have to buy the car with the PCCBs to get that price (approx US$8K). The FAQ states that *each* rotor is US$5000+ so buying the PCCB parts is probably going to cost more than the tax you're going to incur for the car. Btw, off topic but do you see a lot of Caymans in Singapore? -jay

POST 8Original post

caymanjay is correct - the price for the option while ordering the car is about $8,100 USD, but buying the parts is WAY more expensive. The rotors by themselves are actually $6k each last time I checked - that's $24k USD before anything else (calipers, lines, pads, etc.). AFAIK, the PCCBs will not fit straight-up on the 2.7 Cayman - I believe you need to get different spindles to handle the bigger brakes and their mounting points. they are not available as an option on the 2.7 Cayman as far as I know. brad

caySman, you are better of talking to one of the tuners in SG about Brembo or other aftermarket kits.
