Suggestion

I'm thinking that the easiest and most unobtrusive way to way to get better sound out of my base sound system would be to replace the door speakers with some quality 5.25" speakers and new mids (opinions?) Seems like, for less than $200 and about an hour I can pull the door panels, bolt in new speakers, and have some level of improvement, but first I need to know how to get the panels off without breaking something.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

DOes anyone have the info on how to remove a door panel? I have a rattle/creak in the right door near the Bose speakers and would like to take it off to explore the source. I have done this many times in a Boxster and 996 but this panel is different. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

POST 2Original post

I'm bumping this thread since there has been no response. I'm wondering if anyone out there has removed the doo panels yet? MT647, have you installed your FOCAL speakers yet?

POST 3Original post

Silversled - Not yet...we are currently trying to fabricate a fiberglass sub box underneath the passenger side/glove box...and having a tough time. the first try, the box was too big even with a blaupukt 2 inch thin 10' sub. we are now considering an L shaped box and bring the air volume down to the area where the Bose subwoofer is located. if we can't get the sub box to look stock, then iwill stick with the bad Bose sound.

TTT. I would also like to know how to remove the door panels. With all the interest in replacing the head unit, someone must have tried to remove a door panel by now. Mods, this post might get more love in the electronics section. Steve
