Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi all a friend of mine is in the club and before you say it no he's not expecting!. He has a c4s 2002 and has been having trouble with the head unit. He has taken it back to the indie who supplied the car and they changed the p.c board in it. But every now and then it still switches off on its own sometimes more often than others. He tells me also that it stayed on even when the car was switched off so he had to get out the car lock it then unlock it to turn the unit off. Now I know there's some very clever guys on here may be someone can help. Don't let the in and out of the car stuff throw you it's the intermittent power loss that the main issue.

POST 2Original post

I would suspect the ignition switch. They are often the cause of that type of electricl gremlin. There is a DIY in the Technical Articles section. A good quality Hella (original fitment) switch is about £20, so it won't break the bank to try it.
