Can't help, aside from previous experience with Dension (all good btw!) - I took out my PCM (996) and fitted a proper stereo

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi, I am a newbie and looking for some advice. I am buying a 997 2S but it doesn't have a phone kit. I use i-phone. The garage has offered to fit a 'Gateway system for i-phone'. Anybody got any experience? Any good? How much should I pay?

POST 2Original post

Isn't that just the Dension thing? Can't help, aside from previous experience with Dension (all good btw!) - I took out my PCM (996) and fitted a proper stereo

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Could be the Denison thing you mention - I really am clueless...(!!). Thanks for the reply.

POST 4Original post

Denison gateway is a fab piece of kit one of the best aftermarket phone kits

POST 5Original post

Save yourself some dosh and get yourself one of these: http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/supertooth-buddy-bluetoo... I have one and works great. Seamless connection and is very loud and clear.

POST 6Original post

the 997.1 (the one you are buying) doesn't have bluetooth offering from Porsche and to retrofit the official phone module (which means you stick your SIM in the dash) is very expensive. The Dension Gateway module allows bluetooth functionality from the head unit, and uses all the OEM functions. Look it up on YouTube. I've not got one yet, but it looks pretty smart!
